Navarro (hamstring) is expected to rejoin the Blue Jays on Tuesday, Shi Davidi of SportsNet reports. Navarro, who was originally slated to be back with the team Monday, will spend one more day on rehab at Triple-A Buffalo before rejoining the big league club Tuesday. He's missed roughly five weeks with a strained hamstring and has not played since April 21.

Navarro (hamstring) is on schedule to return to the Blue Jays Monday, John Lott of the National Post reports. Navarro hit a two-run home run in his rehab start Saturday. He has been on the disabled list four times in his career but this trip to the disabled list has lasted five weeks. Navarro said that he is eager to get back with the Blue Jays on Monday.

Navarro (hamstring) will start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports. Navarro is nearly five weeks removed from suffering the hamstring strain, and this is the first update the Blue Jays have provided since mid-May. While Navarro will likely play at least two or three games during his rehab assignment, the level and location suggest he should be back with the Blue Jays before long. Once Navarro is ready, Josh Thole will likely be demoted to Triple-A Buffalo.

Navarro is progressing slowly in his recovery from a left hamstring strain and remains without a timetable for a return, Sportsnet.ca reports. Little has been reported in terms of Navarro's progress in the weeks since he hit the 15-day DL, and it seems that's because there's nothing much to report. "Still recovering, hamstring isn't there, hasn't started a rehab assignment yet," was all GM Alex Anthopoulos offered up Friday. Josh Thole will continue serving as the backup to Russell Martin for the time being.

Navarro's hamstring injury is worse than Blue Jays manager John Gibbons originally thought, John Lott of the National Post reports. "He's got a nice little tear in there," Gibbons said Thursday afternoon. Navarro was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday morning, and it sounds as if he probably won't be ready after the minimum 15 days. Josh Thole was recalled to serve as Russell Martin's backup, but Justin Smoak and Danny Valencia could also pick up some extra at-bats, as Navarro has thus far seen most of his playing time as a designated hitter.

Navarro was placed on the 15-day DL on Thursday with a strained left hamstring. He came up limp running the bases on Tuesday and the move will be backdated to Apr. 22. Josh Thole was recalled as a result to serve as the backup catcher. In the short term Navarro's absence could lead to some more at-bats for Justin Smoak.

Navarro went 1-for-4 as the team's DH in Monday's Opening Day win over the Yankees. Navarro dealt with a minor knee injury in the spring, but appears to be back to full health heading into the regular season. The 31-year-old will serve primarily as Russell Martin's backup behind the plate, but he should also see some at bats as the club's designated hitter.

Navarro (knee) returned to the lineup Sunday as the DH, but won't catch for a few days, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports. Navarro went 2-for-4 in his return while batting cleanup. This injury should just be a blip on his radar as Navarro lost the full-time catching role to Russell Martin, who was acquired in the offseason. Navarro hit 12 home runs and drove in 69 runs while hitting .274. His ability to retain eligibility as a catcher will keep his value higher even if he's only catching once or twice a week as he should be the team's designated hitter.

Navarro suffered a minor knee injury Monday, mlb.com's Gregor Chisholm reports. Navarro is only expected to miss a few days, so the injury shouldn't change much. He likely still hopes to be traded to a team that needs a starting catcher, but he at least figures to see some at bats as a designated hitter if the Jays hold onto him as Russell Martin's backup.

Navarro will compete for at-bats at DH this season, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports. This is in addition to his status as the Jays' backup catcher, so there is a chance that two backstops in Toronto return value in deeper leagues this season. Navarro did not shy away from admitting to the media Monday that he hopes to be traded before the start of the season to a team where he can be an everyday catcher, but said he would be a pro about the situation if he remains with the Blue Jays. Justin Smoak and Danny Valencia will also compete for at-bats at DH, but Navarro has proven to be a better hitter than both of those players lately, so he should not be counted out because of his status as the backup catcher. His situation will be one worth monitoring throughout spring training.
