Dayan Viciedo singled and launched a go-ahead, three-run homer in the ninth inning of Sunday's comeback win over the Indians. John Axford walked two of the first three batters he faced while trying to protect a two-run lead, then Viciedo smoked a line drive over the right-field wall. Vicedo entered the game in a 2-for-17 slide at the plate, but Sunday's two-hit effort pushes his batting line back up to .330/.393/.520 to go along with two homers and 12 RBI.

Dayan Viciedo stayed red hot on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two runs scored. Viciedo is 14-for-24 with six extra-base hits in his last six games. He probably won't keep this up for much longer, but the White Sox might decide to move him into the cleanup spot anyway.

That's good news for the White Sox who have recently had trade discussions involving Viciedo. For fantasy purposes, Viciedo doesn't offer much besides an ability to hit home runs. He hit 25 in 2012 and 14 last season in 70 fewer at-bats.

Dayan Viciedo said Saturday that he's willing to play wherever the team asks him to, including third base. The 24-year-old appeared in 23 games at third base with the White Sox during his rookie season in 2010, but has been used almost exclusively as an outfielder since. With an excess of quality options in the outfield however, without a trade the White Sox may have to find creative ways to get all of their bats in the lineup, and Viciedo playing third base could be an option if he can handle the position defensively.

White Sox and OF Dayan Viciedo avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.8 million contract. Viciedo was a Super Two qualifier, so he gets four years of salary arbitration starting in 2014. The 24-year-old outfielder batted .265/.304/.426 with 14 home runs and 56 RBI in 124 games last season. He hit .255/.300/.444 with 25 homers and 78 RBI in 2012.

Dayan Viciedo went 1-for-4 with a run scored in his return to the lineup Monday against the Blue Jays. Viciedo left the White Sox on Friday following the birth of his child, but he's now back for the final week of the season. The 24-year-old is batting .262/.302/.418 with 13 home runs and 54 RBI over 119 games this year.
