David DeJesus (hand) ran the bases on Tuesday. Working his way back from a fractured left hand, DeJesus is slowly but surely incorporating baseball activities back into his regimen. The outfielder could be activated in early August if all goes well.

David DeJesus will visit a hand specialist Thursday. DeJesus was placed on the disabled list Thursday afternoon after fracturing a bone in his left hand on a check swing Wednesday. He'll be in a cast for three weeks and will presumably be on the shelf into August. It's another tough blow for the Rays, who entered play Thursday with a record of 28-45. They are 13 games back in the American League East standings.

Rays placed OF David DeJesus on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left hand. DeJesus suffered the injury Wednesday on a check swing and will likely be out for several weeks. Brandon Guyer has been activated in a corresponding roster move. DeJesus, 34, was batting .269/.367/.440 with five homers and 17 RBI in 62 games this season.

David DeJesus went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Friday's loss to the Red Sox. DeJesus had half of the Rays' hits on the night. Thanks to a strong May, the 34-year-old is batting .268/.350/.465 with five home runs and 16 RBI through 47 games this season.

David DeJesus had a big night at the plate in Friday's loss to the Indians, going 4-for-5 with three doubles and two RBI. DeJesus also scored a run in the ballgame. The huge effort raises his season slash to .265/.365/.470 to go along with three homers and 11 RBI. While he's hitting atop the Rays lineup, he's worth a look as a fourth or fifth outfielder in deeper mixed leagues.

David DeJesus homered and walked with the bases loaded to plate both Rays runs in a 2-1 win over the Red Sox in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader. DeJesus's homer barely made it over the low wall down the right-field line at Fenway; it would have been a double in any other park. Still, it was quite a nice day at the plate for him. He came in with a .190 average and one homer in 63 at-bats for the month of April.

David DeJesus went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Twins. DeJesus didn't have a hit in his previous 21 at-bats before Tuesday's outburst. He had an RBI single in the first inning before delivering a two-run single in the third. It was his first multi-hit game since April 6, and the runs batted in were his first of the year as he's started slow out of the gate.

David DeJesus is not in the Rays' lineup Friday. With the DH not in play in Cincinnati, the Rays are going with Matt Joyce in left field. DeJesus will probably be back in there Saturday.

David DeJesus went 2-for-5 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. Rays hitters struggled to get anything going against Rangers starter Yu Darvish, but DeJesus managed two of the seven hits off the right-hander. That included a double that put runners at second and third with one out, but Darvish took care of Wil Myers and Evan Longoria to end the threat. DeJesus is the Rays' primary leadoff hitter and has value in AL-only leagues.

David DeJesus tripled, doubled and scored twice as Tampa Bay's leadoff hitter on Thursday. DeJesus served as a DH tonight after missing two games with a bruised foot. He'll probably be back on the bench tomorrow with the Rangers set to start a left-hander against the Rays.
