Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Rays have signed David DeJesus to a two-year deal. No word yet on the financial terms of the agreement, which covers the 2014 and 2015 seasons and also includes an option for 2016. "I'm excited to be a Ray again," DeJesus said in a statement. He hit .251/.327/.402 between three different teams (Cubs, Nationals and Rays) in 2013 and will start in left field for Tampa Bay next year.

Rays exercised OF David DeJesus' $6.5 million option for the 2014 season. The two sides are also reportedly working on a multi-year extension. The 33-year-old outfielder slashed .251/.327/.402 with eight homers and 38 RBI in 122 games on the 2013 season, including .260/.328/.413 in 35 games with the Rays. They could have opted to pay him a $1.5 million buyout and attempt to re-sign him at a lesser rate, but the organization wanted to ensure they could bring him back. He should be expected to platoon in the Rays outfield in 2014.

Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports that the Rays want to bring back David DeJesus for next season. The club has a $6.5 million option on DeJesus for 2014, but they seem likelier to pay him a $1.5 million buyout and negotiate a smaller deal. Mooney notes that the Rays "were interested in DeJesus long before he was acquired" and could use him to platoon in the outfield and at DH next season.

David DeJesus drove in the Rays' lone run with an RBI single in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox. DeJesus' single to drive in Yunel Escobar in the sixth inning got the scoring going, but, unfortunately for the Rays, they were outscored 3-0 the rest of the way. Tampa managed just six hits on the night, with Escobar getting three of them. Just one of them went for extra bases.

David DeJesus brought an end to Friday's marathon contest against the Orioles, delivering a walkoff RBI single in the 18th inning to lead the Rays to a 5-4 victory. DeJesus finished the night 4-for-8 with a double, run scored and two RBI. The veteran outfielder is now hitting .278 (20-for-72) with five RBI and a pair of stolen bases in his 26 games with the Rays, with none of those hits being as critical as Friday's game-winner. These two teams will get right back at it on Saturday afternoon.

David DeJesus went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Yankees. DeJesus went 4-for-7 in his first two games with the Rays over the weekend, which means his tenure in Tampa Bay has already been exponentially more successful than his stint with the Nationals (0-for-3 in three games). DeJesus should get a decent amount of at-bats against right-handed pitching, but he doesn't produce enough to warrant ownership in mixed leagues.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Rays have acquired OF David DeJesus from the Nationals. There's no word yet on what the Nats will receive in return. DeJesus, of course, was just claimed off waivers by the Nats earlier this week, but they're not interested in paying his salary. He'll be the fourth outfielder in Tampa.
