Straily (oblique) felt some discomfort playing catch Tuesday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Don Mattingly noted afterwards that it's possible Straily doesn't pitch again this season, which seems likely at this point given how late it is in the season. Should the right-hander be shut down for the remainder of the season, the Marlins, who have been utilizing a six-man rotation recently, could simply revert back to five starters for the stretch run. The 29-year-old compiled a 4.12 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 99:52 K:BB across 23 starts (122.1 innings) before landing on the shelf with an oblique injury earlier in the month.

Straily (oblique) maintains hope that he'll be able to pitch again this season, but it appears doubtful he'll return to the mound in 2018, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins have utilized a six-man rotation recently, so the team may choose to just scale down to five starters while Straily is on the mend. Due to the expanded roster, the Marlins won't have to place Straily on the disabled list, but since he's without a timetable to resume throwing and there's less than a month left in the season, it seems unlikely that he'll be able to handle a starter's workload anytime soon.

Straily was diagnosed with a left oblique strain after exiting Friday's game against Pittsburgh, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
This isn't good news for Straily, who left the game in the fifth inning. A stint on the disabled list is certainly possible given the nature of the injury, although he'll likely require further evaluation to determine when he'll pitch again.

Straily was lifted from Friday's game against the Pirates in the bottom of the fifth inning with an apparent injury, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports. He allowed two runs on four hits while striking out four over 4.2 innings, leaving the game on the hook for the loss.
EDGE Analysis
The trainer and manager Don Mattingly came out to the mound in the fifth inning after Straily motioned to the dugout. He was then removed from the game, although the location and extent of the injury remains unclear. More news on Straily's availability moving forward should surface shortly.

Straily (5-6) picked up the win in Friday's 1-0 victory over the Braves, allowing three hits and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander bounced back in impressive fashion from a shaky outing against the Nats, and Straily got rewarded for his efforts with his first win in over a month. He'll look to improve further on his 4.35 ERA when he takes the mound next Friday at home against the Blue Jays.

Straily (4-6) surrendered five runs on nine hits while striking out two over six innings as he was saddled with the loss Friday against Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Straily exited the game down five runs after throwing just 65 of 101 pitches for strikes. The 29-year-old has yet to pick up his first win of the month after making three starts in August: he's allowed 10 runs through 16 innings over that uninspiring stretch. Straily will look to turn it around on the hill in his next turn through the rotation, which is slated for Thursday against Atlanta.

Straily didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Mets, giving up three runs on four hits and four walks over 4.2 innings while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander's control continues to waver -- Straily's walked at least three batters in six of eight starts since July 1, posting a 3.97 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 40:25 K:BB in 45.1 innings over that stretch.

Straily surrendered two runs on one hit and five walks while striking out seven across 5.1 innings Sunday as he didn't factor into the decision against Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Straily issued five walks for just the second time this season, limiting his outing to 5.1 frames on 103 pitches. He exited the ballgame down three runs, but the Marlins would rally to get him off the hook for the loss. Straily owns a 4.35 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 80 strikeouts over 93 innings, and he'll look to limit the free passes his next time out.

Straily will start Sunday against the Phillies in Philadelphia instead of against the Cardinals at home Monday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move up a day has nothing to do with Straily, but it's instead aimed at preventing Wei-Yin Chen -- who owns a monstrous 10.27 ERA on the road this season -- from having to make that start. Straily owns a much more manageable 4.00 mark away from Marlins Park, but he will face a tough task against a Phillies club averaging 4.8 runs per game since the All-Star break.

Straily (4-5) allowed eight runs (five earned) on 11 hits and one walk across 3.2 innings Tuesday while taking the loss against the Braves. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Straily was under duress from the get go, allowing a solo home run to Ronald Acuna in the first inning which Nick Markakis followed up with a two-run blast. He put up a couple of zeros after that before allowing five runs on four hits, a walk and an error as he was chased with two outs in the fourth. Needless to say, it was a disappointing outing for Straily, who'd allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his last six starts. Perhaps some of the distraction stemmed from the possibility of his departure via trade earlier in the day, but Straily's immediate future is now much clearer and he'll look to get back on track this weekend against the Phillies.
