Johnson is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson is hitting .313 with one home run and four RBI over his last five games and will start in place of Justin Bour as the Marlins stack the lineup with right-handed hitters in a matchup with Jon Niese.

Johnson slugged his second home run of the season during a 2-for-5 effort Thursday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson drew the start at first base against lefty Drew Smyly and plated three runs in the Marlins' 9-1 blowout. The veteran's playing time has been sparse with Justin Bour, Derek Dietrich and Martin Prado all playing well while Johnson has struggled to get going at the dish. The strong effort should buy him some more looks against left-handed pitching.

Johnson slugged a pinch-hit home run in the seventh inning of Sunday's loss to the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The solo shot temporarily gave the Marlins a one-run lead but the bullpen could not fend off a Phillies comeback. Johnson has seen an uptick in at-bats over the past week with, but with Justin Bour (finger) back in the lineup, he'll to return to bench role on most night. For the year he's slashing .237/.310/.395 over 38 at-bats.

Johnson is in the lineup and batting sixth for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson will continue to start in place of Justin Bour, who is day-to-day after dislocating his pinky finger Tuesday. He has been used primarily as a reserve this season, going 5-for-25 with ten strikeouts through 19 games.

Johnson is in the lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, batting sixth and playing first base, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson will get the start over regular first baseman Justin Bour, as he is a historically good hitter against left-handers such as the Diamondback's starter for Tuesday, Patrick Corbin. He has two career at-bats against Corbin, for one walk and one hit.

Johnson is in the lineup Monday against the Mets, batting sixth and playing first base.
EDGE Analysis
With lefty Steven Matz on the mound, Johnson will get the start over regular first baseman Justin Bour. Johnson is hitless in three at-bats this season, but he has historically mashed against lefties in his career. Most recently, he posted a .745 OPS against them in 2015, which is a good omen going into Monday's contest.

Johnson went 2-for-3 with a double in Monday's win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson is batting a solid .292/.346/.375 over 24 spring at-bats as he looks to carve out a bench role for the Marlins. The veteran lefty-masher will likely split time with Justin Bour at first base, but the coaching staff has repeatedly noted that Bour will be given more opportunities against left-handed pitching than he was afforded last season. When all is said and done, it's likely that Johnson works his way into a platoon at first base given each player's relative strength against opposite handed pitching.

Johnson was scratched from the lineup for Friday's spring game due to mid-back stiffness, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson is listed as day-to-day with the setback, so he should be able to get back on the field following a brief absence.

Johnson inked a one-year contract with the Marlins on Wednesday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given the depth for the Marlins in the infield, it's tough to see Johnson earning a starting job for the club, but he should battle for a spot as a utility infielder. The veteran played 83 games between the Braves and Indians last season, batting .255/.272/.320 with tree home runs and 18 RBI combined between the two over 243 at-bats, but offers little to look forward to in most fantasy leagues.

Johnson was released by the Indians on Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
Just days after being DFA'd by the Indians, Johnson was officially released Tuesday and will hit free agency. The 31-year-old corner infielder batted .289/.312/.367 down the stretch with the Indians last season and could be a fit for an American League team looking for a DH or depth infield option.
