League (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, retroactive to March 27, MLB.com reports. Legue is expected to miss at least the first month or two of the season, and it's possible he could eventually land on the 60-day disabled list. If he eventually joins the bullpen, it will likely just be in a middle-relief role.

Manager Don Mattingly indicated Friday that League (shoulder) will miss at least a couple of months, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. League's shoulder issue is apparently serious, and he he will be shut down for three weeks. The timetable sets his return back to some point around early May, though it should become more concrete as he continues to progress. When he does return, he'll likely serve in a middle relief role for the Angels.

League (shoulder) is expected to begin the season on the disabled list, Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles reports. League will undergo a contrast MRI Wednesday, but hasn't displayed improvement in his shoulder since receiving an injection last week. He reportedly didn't feel right following a bullpen session Tuesday, and a DL stint appears to be on tap for him to begin the season. He'll likely serve in a middle relief role with the club once he returns from the injury.

League (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session on Tuesday, SB Nation's Eric Stephen reports. The general feeling is that League will be ready for Opening Day, but he does not appear to be a consideration for saves while Kenley Jansen is out to start the season.

League (shoulder) reported that his shoulder feels fine and will test it playing catch on Thursday, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports. He expects to be ready for Opening Day. Either way, it appears on the surface that Joel Peralta is the favorite for saves in Kenley Jansen's (foot) absence.

League (shoulder) has been diagnosed with right shoulder inflammation, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports. It's expected that League will miss a few days after he received an injection Monday. League may be in danger of missing the start of the season depending on how his shoulder responds to the treatment.

League experienced a setback with his sore shoulder Sunday and will be shut down for "several additional days", MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. This may very well mean that League begins the year on the 15-day disabled list. He was a longshot to close anyway with Kenley Jansen (foot) sidelined.

League could be a dark horse candidate for saves early in the season given the injury to Kenley Jansen (foot). It's probably more likely that League winds himself in lower leverage situations, but we'll have to see how things sort out in March. League lucked into a 2.57 ERA last year after posting a mediocre 1.4 K/BB.

Brandon League allowed two runs in an inning of work against the Athletics on Monday. League followed Kershaw in the third and allowed two of his inherited runners to score along with two of his own on two hits and two walks. League had been bothered by a lat strain in his right shoulder in February. After a disastrous 2013 season, League is trying to remain relevant in the Dodgers' bullpen.
