Miller was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Mariners due to right neck tightness.
EDGE Analysis
Miller was slated to serve as the designated hitter Saturday after sitting Friday, but he's dealing with a neck issue that will prevent him from starting. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available off the bench, but Elier Hernandez will take over as the DH and bat ninth.

Miller will sit Friday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers have asked Miller to start just once all season against a lefty, a decision that makes sense considering he has a career 66 wRC+ against southpaws compared to a 110 wRC+ against right-handers. He'll sit for the second consecutive day with the Mariners turning to their second consecutive lefty in Robbie Ray.

Miller is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Miller is 5-for-25 through eight games in July and will head to the bench Thursday since southpaw Marco Gonzales is pitching for Seattle. Elier Hernandez, who had his contract selected by the Rangers on Thursday, will bat eighth as the designated hitter in his major-league debut.

Miller started at designated hitter and went 0-for-2 in Tuesday's 14-7 extra-innings loss to Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
After Kole Calhoun started at DH on Monday, Miller got the start in the Rangers' second game without Mitch Garver, who had been the primary DH before undergoing season-ending surgery on his forearm. While Garver's injury creates more opportunities for Miller, he's still subject to matchups and is often pinch hit for against lefties, as was the case Tuesday when A.J. Puk entered the contest.

Miller will start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Though he'll be manning left field in the series finale, Miller could take over as the Rangers' primary designated hitter beginning with Monday's game against the Athletics. Mitch Garver (forearm) is in the lineup Sunday but is slated to undergo season-ending surgery Monday, leaving the DH role available for the taking. The lefty-hitting Miller could end up filling a large-side platoon at DH, with the Rangers then rotating a number of righty-hitting players at that spot versus left-handed pitching.

Miller will start in left field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Miller will get his fourth start in five games, with most of his increased opportunities coming at the expense of Leody Taveras, who has started just twice during that stretch. Since Miller bats from the left side while Taveras switch hits, manager Chris Woodward could consider using the players in a soft platoon. Both will stay in the lineup against a right-hander (Spenser Watkins) on Wednesday, however, as it's everyday outfielder Adolis Garcia that finds himself on the bench in what's likely just a maintenance day.

Miller started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Miller filled in for Mitch Garver, who was given a rest day after coming off the injured list Tuesday. Josh H. Smith started in left field while Ezequiel Duran worked at third base, the two positions at which Miller has played the most in 2022. With the Rangers signaling a youth movement, Miller's opportunities may dwindle going forward. The one thing in his favor is clutch hitting. The veteran ranks fifth on the team with 27 RBI, and he has a .931 OPS with runners in scoring position.

Miller is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Even though a right-hander (Kyle Gibson) is on the mound for the Phillies, the lefty-hitting Miller will find himself on the bench Tuesday and may have to settle for infrequent starts moving forward. Mitch Garver (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19-related injured list Tuesday, and he'll likely occupy the designated-hitter spot in most games moving forward to close off a potential avenue to playing time for Miller. Though Miller still has the ability to pick up at-bats at either corner-infield or corner-outfield spot, the quartet of Nathaniel Lowe, Josh H. Smith, Adolis Garcia and Kole Calhoun are likely to fill out those four positions against right-handed pitching more often than not.

Miller is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old is hitless over his past three contests and will take a seat Friday with left-hander Tarik Skubal pitching for Detroit. Charlie Culberson will man left field in Miller's place.

Miller is not in Sunday's lineup against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Even with a righty (Michael Kopech) on the hill, Miller will head to the bench after being activated from the injured list Friday and notching two hits Saturday. Zach Reks will start in left field and hit eighth.
