Parker allowed two earned runs on a hit and two walks while striking out one in the ninth inning Sunday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
While Parker technically earned a hold, he allowed the game-tying runner on base, which came after he served up a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien. Sunday marked the second consecutive outing in which Parker has not been effective, as he has allowed three earned runs across his last 2.1 innings of work. Cam Bedrosian and Justin Anderson would be most likely candidates to take over Parker's role as closer if he was removed from the job, though Bedrosian allowed the game-tying hit Sunday and each has had their share of struggles this season.

Parker gave up a run on two hits and a walk while striking out three over two innings in Wednesday's 8-6 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels' bullpen had been taxed over this important three-game series against Seattle, so Parker was brought into a tight contest in the seventh inning. The 32-year-old was unable to preserve the one-run lead, and the Mariners eventually walked off in the ninth against against Oliver Drake. While this was technically a blown save, the unique circumstances should afford Parker to maintain his role as the club's closer after converting four consecutive saves prior to Wednesday's multi-inning slip up.

Parker struck out three in a four-out save Wednesday against the Royals, his fifth of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Parker was nasty, as he induced four swinging strikes in his 19-pitch outing. He owns a 2.73 ERA and has been able to avoid blowups this season, as he has allowed more than one run in an outing just once, when he allowed two runs April 7 against Oakland. Parker has now saved consecutive games and is getting consistent opportunities despite a blown save June 2 against Texas. It looks like Parker has separated himself from Justin Anderson and Jim Johnson, the other apparent closer options for the Angels in the wake of Keynan Middleton's season ending Tommy John surgery.

Parker worked around a walk to finish a scoreless ninth for his fourth save Monday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Parker needed 20 pitches -- just 10 of which were strikes -- but was working with a three-run cushion and was never threatened in Monday's ninth inning. Parker is 3-for-4 in save opportunities since Keynan Middleton went on the disabled list, but has had some control issues this season. He owns a 3.2 BB/9 after posting a sharp 2.1 BB/9 in 67.1 innings last season, and if he wants to improve his 2.86 ERA, Parker will have to limit the free passes.

Parker was unable to convert a save Saturday, giving up a run on a hit and walk while striking out one over an inning in an extra-inning loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Parker surrendered a one-run lead when Jurickson Profar narrowly crossed home plate before the final out of the inning was made at second base. It was a bang-bang play, but replay review confirmed that the run scored prior to Andrelton Simmons' tag was placed on Carlos Tocci. It was Parker's first blown save in three chances since taking over as the Halos' closer May 20. The 33-year-old still owns a solid 2.96 ERA with a 3.3 K/BB ratio over 27.1 innings, so it's unlikely that this gaff will remove him from the closer role for the time being.

Parker picked up his first win of the season Sunday, getting the final out of the game without allowing any baserunners against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Keynan Middleton left the game after getting two outs in the eighth inning with an elbow injury, and will be sent for an MRI. Jim Johnson then came in and got the final out of the eighth inning and the first two outs of the ninth inning, but not before giving up two hits and two walks without allowing any runs to score. It's unclear who manager Mike Scioscia will turn to the next time there is a save situation, but it could be Parker. He has logged six straight scoreless appearances, giving up just four hits and two walks while striking out nine in 6.1 innings over that stretch.

Parker was not used late in a tight win over the Orioles on Tuesday despite not having pitched in two days.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Mike Scioscia turned to Cam Bedrosian for the save opportunity Tuesday following Keynan Middleton's (elbow) placement on the 10-day disabled list. Bedrosian was unable to protect the two-run lead, so the closer situation for the Halos is still uncertain. Trying to predict what direction Scioscia will go in the ninth inning can be a fool's errand, but it was clear that Parker and his 4.40 ERA was not in consideration this time around, despite having plenty of rest for traditional reliever.

Parker recorded one out after giving up a run on two hits in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Despite surrendering a solo home run to Mike Moustakas, the veteran reliever was still able to notch his first hold of the season. Keynan Middleton recorded the save and has been manager Mike Scioscia's preferred ninth-inning option over the past couple of weeks. The Angels' skipper is notorious for rotating closing duties amongst his relievers, but Parker's early struggles (6.43 ERA in eight appearances) and Middleton's strong play of late make the latter the much more desirable option for saves.

Parker allowed two runs on two hits and a walk in 1.1 innings pitched Saturday against the Athletics. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Things are getting worse for the 32-year-old, as he was bypassed for a potential save opportunity Friday and then compounded the issue by struggling in Saturday's game. With Parker now having allowed four runs in five appearances, it seems like there's reason to believe that he's not the Angels reliever to own in shallower leagues. Granted, the sample size is small and the veteran's numbers last season certainly warrant a longer leash. However, the strong start by fellow reliever Kenyan Middleton and the Angels' reluctance to name a sole closer has Parker trending in the wrong direction.

Keynan Middleton -- and not Parker -- was warming up in the bottom of the eighth inning to protect a three-run lead in Friday's 13-9 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels were off Thursday and Parker was not listed on any injury report, so manager Mike Scioscia's preparations to use Middleton in a save opportunity was no fluke. They added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth, so a save opportunity never materialized, but this is concerning news for Parker's owners nonetheless. The Angels' manager refused to name a closer this offseason, so we have to assume a closing committee led by Parker and Middleton, the only two relievers to pick up saves for the Halos so far this year. Don't be surprised if Cam Bedrosian or even Jim Johnson enter the fold at some point this season as well.
