The Angels optioned Parker to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Parker had been in the mix for saves while Bud Norris was on the disabled list, but the Halos didn't think they needed Parker for now. He didn't play like he deserved a demotion, though, with a 2.17 ERA, 12.5 K/9, 2.2 BB/9 and a save in 37.1 innings. He should be back sometime this season -- maybe soon if this was just procedural before the All-Star break.

Parker was brought in the record the final out of Saturday's 6-3 win over Boston, earning his first save of the season in the process.
EDGE Analysis
Cam Bedrosian mucked up what was a five-run lead heading into the ninth inning, so the 32-year-old was called upon to shut the door with the bases loaded and two outs. He did just that, punching out Chris Young to notch his third career save. Bedrosian and Huston Street figure to be the top options to close in place of the injured Bud Norris (knee), but Parker's dominance this season (2.14 ERA and 5.6 K/BB) could put him in the conversation under the unpredictable Mike Scioscia.

Parker (2-2) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts during Wednesday's win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Parker has strung together 18.1 scoreless innings through his past 18 appearances with 25 punchouts and just four walks. He sports a 2.01 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 13.5 K/9 for the campaign, so while Parker isn't currently locked into a high-leverage role, he's still providing serviceable fantasy numbers.

Parker allowed two baserunners, but struck out three over a scoreless inning Thursday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old continues to dominate this season, posting a 2.22 ERA and 13.7 K/9 over 28.1 innings. Despite posting ERAs north of 4.50 in 2015 and 2016, Parker's 1.01 FIP indicates that his success is no fluke. He has been a solid ratio booster while collecting a handful of holds, and could be next in line for save opportunities should Bud Norris falter or go down to injury.

Parker fired a scoreless innings Wednesday, striking out all three batters he faced in a loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The solid outing lowered the 32-year-old's ERA to 2.95 on the season while sporting an impressive 5.0 K/BB ratio. The veteran has looked like a new pitcher in 2017 after struggling out of the Angels' bullpen in his previous two seasons. Bud Norris appears to have a firm grip on the closer role in Los Angeles, but Parker has put himself in a position to be considered for a late-inning role should the opportunity present itself.

Parker has put together a strong showing so far in 2017, posting a 2.53 ERA with an elite 15.2 K/9 through 10.2 April innings.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old's hot start has come out of nowhere, as he finished the previous two seasons with ERAs north of 4.67. Parker has always possessed strikeout stuff (10.48 career K/9) while keeping his walks at a reasonable level (3.20 career BB/9). He may have had control of his pitches, but he didn't possess command, getting him hard despite his solid K:BB ratios. Even with his advanced age, it isn't improbable to think that the righty has figured something out on the mound. It is early, but nothing in his peripherals point to any sort of good fortune or smoke and mirrors going on; in fact, he has been a bit unlucky with a career-high .398 BABIP against and and 1.40 xFIP that indicates that he could be pitching better than his current stats show. Considering how badly the Angels' bullpen has been struck by injuries this season, there is a good chance that Parker could begin to see higher-leverage situations and also throw his hat into the closing conversation should anything happen to Bud Norris.

Parker made the Angels' Opening Day roster, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Parker was dialed in this spring. He allowed a single run over 12.1 innings of work and fanned 24 batters while walking just two. However, while he may be worth picking up in deep leagues as a source of strikeouts, prospective owners will want to be aware that he's struggled to consistently perform in the majors and is coming off a rough 2016 season that he finished with a 4.67 ERA and 1.50 WHIP.

Parker cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The righty struggled during his limited appearances in 2016, allowing nine runs in just 17.1 innings with he Mariners and Yankees. He'll start in the minors and will likely provide organizational depth.

Parker was designated for assignment by the Angels on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels decision to designate Parker for assignment was made to make room on their 40-man roster for the newly-acquired Juan Graterol. Parker struggled on the mound during limited time in the 2016 season, as he allowed nine runs over just 17.1 innings (17 games).

Parker was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
He was claimed by the Halos back on Oct. 5, but they lost him to the Brewers when they tried to sneak him through waivers. It is possible that they will designate him for assignment once again in an effort to get him off the 40-man roster while retaining his rights. Look for him to serve as organizational bullpen depth, regardless of which Opening Day roster he is on.
