Andy Dirks (Achilles) will not be ready for activation from the disabled list Friday as originally hoped. "I don't know when I'm getting Dirks back," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. The Tigers had hoped that Dirks could begin a rehab assignment sometime during their road trip, which ends Thursday. That won't happen, though, and it not clear when Dirks will be cleared to resume playing.

The Tigers are expected to place Andy Dirks (Achilles) on the 15-day disabled list. Dirks underwent an MRI to his right Achilles on Friday, but the results have not yet been released.
