Amarista is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Even with Yangervis Solarte nursing a thumb injury, manager Andy Green will give Brett Wallace the start at third base, and Adam Rosales the nod at the keystone. Amarista is strong defensively, but a .246 batting average leaves much to be desired, even if it is his best career mark.

Amarista is playing second base and batting eighth against Colorado on Saturday, Bill Center of Padres.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Amarista is getting the start with Brett Wallace sitting out and Yangervis Solarte sliding over to third base. While Amarista's numbers this year are not overwhelming, he's having a nice year by his standards, posting career high's in batting average (.258) and on base percentage (.319) so far.

EDGE Analysis
Amarista will get the day off while Yangervis Solarte slides to second base and Brett Wallace remains in the lineup at third base. Amarista is hitting .224 with four RBI, four runs, and four stolen bases on the season.

Amarista was activated from the disabled list Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Amarista was on the shelf since late April with a hamstring injury, but it seems he's back to full health after going 2-for-5 in a rehab game Tuesday. He should slot back into a starting role for the Padres fairly soon considering the barrage of injuries San Diego has been hit with lately. To make room for him on the active roster, right-hander Tayron Guerrero was optioned to Triple-A El Paso.

Amarista (hamstring) is slated to begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
After nearly a month on the shelf with a strained right hamstring, Amarista is ready to return to active competition. It's not clear how long he'll remain in the minors, but Amarista could play fairly regularly upon activation, until Cory Spangenberg (quad) returns to second base.

Amarista (hamstring) has played two games in extended spring training, the Union-Tribune's Dennis Lin reports.
EDGE Analysis
The last news on Amarista was that he was not close to returning, back on April 29, so the fact that he is getting into games at extended spring training is a good sign. There is still no official timetable for Amarista' return, but the Padres could use all the healthy bodies they can get, as seemingly half the infield is on the disabled list.

Padres manager Andy Green said Friday that Amarista (hamstring) is not close to a return, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
An estimated timetable for Amarista's recovery was not provided by the team when he hit the DL, but it sounds like he will be out well beyond the minimum 15 days. Even on the Padres, Amarista will likely remain merely a bench option upon his eventual return.

Amarista was placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday with a right hamstring strain, the Union-Tribune's Dennis Lin reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move is retroactive to April 20, and guarantees consistent at-bats for Adam Rosales, as Yangervis Solarte and Cory Spangenberg are already on the disabled list. When Amarista returns he should occupy a bench role.

Amarista is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to MLB.com's AJ Cassavell.
EDGE Analysis
Amarista started the last six games for the Padres at three different positions, but he will be held out Sunday with the team employing a lineup of almost exclusively right-handed hitters against Diamondbacks starter Patrick Corbin.

Amarista will start Thursday for the fourth game in a row, according to MLB.com's AJ Cassavell.
EDGE Analysis
Amarista did not break camp with the Padres, but he was added to the roster when Yangervis Solarte (hamstring) was placed on the disabled list, and he has been the player to see the biggest bump in playing time in Solarte's absence. Amarista will man the hot corner Thursday and hit seventh against Phillies starter Vincent Velasquez.
