Reed (1-3) allowed four runs on two hits and a walk while not recording an out in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Reed was entrusted with a 3-0 lead but hit the first batter he faced before allowing a home run, single and a walk. That's all manager John Farrell needed and pulled him in favor of Joe Kelly, who wasn't much better. Boston's bullpen has been very good all season and more so since the All-Star break, but Friday's meltdown was a gut-punch loss. It turned a potential 5.5-game lead in the AL East to 3.5 while giving the Yankees confidence heading into Saturday's game. Farrell needs to find consistent late-game roles from the mix of Reed, Matt Barnes, Joe Kelly and Brandon Workman.

Reed struck out two and gave up a hit in a scoreless inning of relief in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Reed was the first of five relievers to throw scoreless innings, holding Chicago in check until Mitch Moreland's walk-off home run in the 11th inning. When the Red Sox acquired Reed, it was thought he would be the eighth-inning setup man, but he's entered his last two games to start the seventh inning. Manager John Farrell told Tim Britton of the Providence Journal after Thursday's game that he'll use Reed anywhere from the seventh inning or later.

Reed passed his physical and was officially traded to the Red Sox in exchange for minor-leaguers Stephen Nogosek, Jamie Callahan and Gerson Bautista, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reed will finish out the season in Boston's bullpen, and while he won't be in line for any saves in his new role, his 2.57 ERA. 8.8 K/9 and 1.1 BB/9 across 49 innings this season still make him a viable fantasy option. As for the Mets, they'll turn to A.J. Ramos as their new closer for the time being.

Reed will be traded to the Red Sox assuming his medical reports are cleared, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. The Mets will receive three prospects, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets will ship their closer to the Junior Circuit as they continue to rebuild. Reed has spun an excellent 2.57 ERA with 8.8 K/9, 1.1 BB/9 and 19 saves across 49 innings, but he's set to assume a setup role for Boston stopper Craig Kimbrel, so Reed's fantasy owners will be robbed of a source of saves. As for the Mets, they'll slide recently acquired A.J. Ramos into the ninth inning but may also incorporate Jeurys Familia (shoulder) if he can return this season.

Reed gave up one hit in a scoreless inning against the Mariners on Friday en route to his 19th save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing an infield single to the first batter he faced (Ben Gamel), Reed got Robinson Cano to ground into a double play and Nelson Cruz to fly out in what may very well prove to be his final appearance with the Mets. The team acquired A.J. Ramos from the Marlins on Friday and Reed is a free agent after this season. He's been excellent over the past two years, but Reed's fantasy value will take a big hit if he's traded to a team with an established closer.

Reed gave up a run on two hits to the Padres on Tuesday, but he was able to hold on for his 18th save.
EDGE Analysis
He just worked around a run (and three hits) for save No. 17 on Monday; this marks only the second time all season that Reed has allowed the opposition to score in consecutive outings. Nonetheless, he remains locked into the ninth-inning role.

Reed earned his 17th save Monday in San Diego despite allowing one run on three hits while striking out one in a rocky ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Reed entered with a 5-2 lead, but allowed the tying run to reach base with one out by surrendering a Hunter Renfroe home run and a pair of singles. He settled down from there to secure the 12th win for starter Jacob DeGrom while improving to 17-for-19 in save opportunities.

Reed (1-2) pitched a perfect ninth inning in a non-save situation Thursday against the Cardinals, allowing him to collect the victory.
EDGE Analysis
With many scouts in attendance, Reed impressed by getting through a drama-free inning in a tie ballgame to lower his ERA to 2.35. Eight of his 13 pitches went for strikes as well, likely creating plenty of intrigue for teams across the league. This could be one of his last appearances out of the Mets' bullpen, which could lead to a role change before the trade deadline on July 31.

Reed worked around a hit while pitching 1.1 innings and striking out a pair of Cardinals for his 16th save Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets don't quite get Reed the quantity of save opportunities his fantasy owners might like, but he's been quite efficient with them. Reed's last blown save came back on May 27, so he's now racked up 10 straight successful conversions, giving up just two runs with a 19:2 K:BB in 19.1 innings during that span. Pinpoint control has been his calling card, as Reed has issued only five walks in 43 appearances this season.

Reed struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 15th save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Jeurys Familia (shoulder) is at least a month away from rejoining the bullpen but should begin a throwing program over the All-Star break, and a deadline deal sending Reed elsewhere remains a possibility, but for now the right-hander is locked in as the Mets' closer after converting nine straight save chances with a 1.06 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB over his last 17 innings.
