Rosales was released by Philadelphia on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Rosales will look to latch on with another organization after joining the Phillies on a minor-league deal this winter. The 34-year-old has appeared in over 100 big-league games each of the last two season, but hasn't been able to find any sort of groove at the plate during that time. During 105 games between Oakland and Arizona last year, he slashed just .225/.260/.353 with seven home runs and 36 RBI. Rosales provides the ability to play all around the infield but will likely settle for another minor-league deal in the near future.

Rosales signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Wednesday which includes an invitation to spring training, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rosales split time between Oakland and Arizona in 2017, hitting a combined .225/.260/.353 with a brutal 32.1 percent strikeout rate in 105 games at both stops. Still, the 34-year-old can play all around the diamond on defense, so he'll get a chance to compete for an Opening Day roster spot as the Phillies' utility man.

Rosales went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
With Jake Lamb batting just .146 in 123 at-bats against left-handed pitching this season, manager Torey Lovullo has been benching him more often versus southpaws in the second half, with Rosales emerging as Lamb's most common platoon partner. Rosales wasn't able to do much against Padres lefty Travis Wood, but it's unlikely to dissuade Lovullo from continuing to use the veteran at third base on the occasions Lamb is rested.

Rosales started at first base and went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in Monday's 13-0 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
With a career .369 slugging percentage, Rosales certainly doesn't possess the kind of power most teams value from their first basemen, but for at least one day, he proved to be an adequate replacement for Paul Goldschmidt, who returned to Arizona to undergo an MRI on his right elbow. The Diamondbacks aren't expected to have a clear idea on the extent of Goldschmidt's injury until the results of the MRI are made available Tuesday, but if the All-Star ends up missing further time, Rosales would be among the top candidates to pick up extra at-bats. Along with Rosales, Daniel Descalso, Kris Negron and Chris Herrmann could also see time at first base.

Rosales went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Jake Lamb received the day off with a left-handed pitcher (Hyun-Jin Ryu) on the mound for the Dodgers, so Rosales took his spot at third base and slotted second in the lineup. Rosales came through with just his sixth home run of the season, but it came with some controversy after the deep drive to the center-field wall was initially ruled a triple before umpires determined through video review that the ball had caromed off the wall just above the home-run line. Since Lamb will continue still see the bulk of the starts at third base and Ketel Marte (hamstring) is healthy again after a two-game absence, Rosales will probably only see a handful of starts the rest of the way as the Diamondbacks aim to solidify a wild-card berth.

Rosales went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Tuesday's win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
This marks his first long ball in 10 appearances with Arizona since being acquired from Oakland at the trade deadline. As a relatively sparingly used utility guy, Rosales has precious little fantasy value outside of cavernous NL-only formats.

Rosales started at second base and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
It was Rosales' fourth start with the Diamondbacks since being acquired July 31, but only his first in the last four games. The recent return of Ketel Marte from the bereavement list looks like it will relegate Rosales to utility duties in the Arizona infield, a role that he's probably best suited for given his meager bat. Rosales' .233/.272/.341 slash line on the season is roughly in line with his career marks in all three columns.

Rosales started at shortstop and went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 16-4 loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
After he was acquired from the Athletics prior to the trade deadline Monday, Rosales was immediately inserted into the lineup upon joining his new team a day later. Rosales could end up picking up a handful of starts before the week comes to a close, but once Ketel Marte (personal) is activated from the bereavement list, the 34-year-old is expected to transition into a utility role off the bench.

Rosales was traded to the Diamondbacks in exchange for minor-league pitcher Jeferson Mejia on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder hasn't been great at the plate this season, as his slash line sits at just .234/.273/.346 in 71 games for the Athletics. However, Rosales' positional versatility intrigued the Diamondbacks' front office after Chris Owings (finger) was ruled out for a while and Ketel Marte (personal) landed on the bereavement list. Rosales will likely move into a reserve role upon his arrival in Phoenix, making him a relatively unattractive fantasy asset despite a new hitter-friendly environment.

Rosales is slashing .231/.268/.342 with four home runs and 27 RBI in 216 plate appearances across 68 games.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran utility man hasn't seen much action in July, with the scant four games he's played in during the month directly correlated to the return of Marcus Semien from a wrist injury. However, Rosales has frequently provided some timely hitting when he's gotten the opportunity, as evidenced by a his .306 average with men on base. The 34-year-old figures to continue seeing occasional action whenever Semien needs a day off, and could also see time at second base if fellow vet Jed Lowrie is dealt to a contender in the coming days.
