Ramos went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and two runs scored in Monday's loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Minnesota rolled to an easy 15-6 win, but Ramos got some degree of personal satisfaction going deep against the team he came up with back in 2010. The veteran catcher took a bit of a step back in 2020 with the Mets, but perhaps the change of scenery will rejuvenate him and lead to an uptick in performance. Ramos is also a potential trade candidate as a 33-year-old on a one-year deal with a team that is likely looking at another rebuilding season.

Ramos is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Cleveland, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos will get his first day off of the season after he started behind the plate in the Tigers' first two games, going 1-for-6 with a walk. Grayson Greiner will catch for starting pitcher Tarik Skubal in the series finale with Cleveland.

Ramos went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos hit his first home run of the spring in the third inning against Jhoulys Chacin. The 33-year-old came to Detroit in the offseason to serve as the regular catcher, and he's capable of posting strong numbers if he stays healthy, though he's coming off of a down year in which he finished with a .684 OPS in 45 games with the Mets.

Ramos agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract with the Tigers on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old had his $10 million club option declined by the Mets in October, but he was able to latch on with the Tigers this offseason. Ramos had a down year in 2020 with a .684 OPS in 45 games, but he had an .808 OPS over the previous four seasons. He should be expected to regain that form in 2021, but he could still be a solid veteran piece for Detroit's otherwise unaccomplished catching group.

The Mets will decline Ramos' $10 million team option for 2021, making him a free agent, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
New York's decision to let Ramos hit the open market isn't overly surprising after he saw his OPS fall from .767 in 2019 to .684 in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. In addition to his decline as a hitter, Ramos remained a below-average pitch framer and continued to struggle in controlling the run game, as opposing base stealers were successful on 28 of their 34 attempts while he was behind the plate. Though Ramos is still a solid contributor offensively by catcher's standards, his defensive shortcomings may make the 33-year-old better suited for a timeshare at this stage of his career.

EDGE Analysis
He opened the scoring on the day by taking former batterymate Max Scherzer deep in the third inning. Ramos has had a disappointing season at the dish, slashing .237/.296/.388 through 44 games with five homers and 15 RBI.

Ramos is not starting Tuesday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos remains the clear top option behind the plate for the Mets despite hitting just .241/.301/.376 on the season, numbers that are quite poor for a bat-first catcher. Robinson Chirinos, who's hitting .138/.208/.185, gets the nod in his place Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis
