Ramos signed a minor-league contract with Cleveland on Friday, Daniel Alvarez Montes of El Extrabase reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was released by the Tigers on June 20 after he recovered from a back injury. The backstop struggled at the plate prior to landing on the injured list in late May, slashing just .200/.238/.392 across 126 plate appearances. He's still just two years removed from launching 15 homers while hitting .288/.351/.416 with the Mets, so there's certainly potential for him to improve on those early-season woes. Ramos seems likely to report to Triple-A Columbus, where he'll provide Cleveland with catching depth for the time being.

The Tigers requested unconditional release waivers on Ramos (back) on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran catcher was designated for assignment by Detroit on Tuesday, and the team won't bother keeping him in the organization. Ramos has been on the injured list nearly a month with a back strain and was playing in rehab games when he was DFA'd. The 33-year-old struggled prior to the injury with a .200/.238/.392 slash line with six homers in 126 plate appearances.

The Tigers designated Ramos for assignment Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos enjoyed a hot start to the season but hit .171 in his last 26 games before landing on the injured list. Further, the emergence of Eric Haase as an impactful bat complicated Ramos' role in the Tigers' catcher depth chart. It wouldn't be at all surprising to see the catcher claimed by another team in need of depth behind the plate or simply a veteran bat with some pop.

Ramos (back) served as the designated hitter in a rehab game at extended spring training in Florida on Friday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was placed on the 10-day injured list May 24 with a lumbar spine strain. He's now rehabbing at the team's Low-A facility in Lakeland, Florida. It's unclear how many rehab games the backstop will need before he returns to Detroit, but the next step will be getting back behind the dish during a game. If all continues to go well, Ramos could be activated within the next week.

Ramos was placed on the 10-day injured list with a lumbar spine strain Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos had started each of the last six games and went 2-for-23 with two RBI, a run, a walk and six strikeouts during that time. He missed 10 days with the same injury earlier in the month, but it's not yet clear whether he'll spend more than 10 days on the shelf this time around. Eric Haase is starting behind the plate and batting fifth Monday, and he could serve as the primary catcher while Ramos and Grayson Greiner (hamstring) are sidelined. Left-hander Derek Holland (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Ramos will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos will serve as the DH for the second time in the weekend series, as the Tigers are being cautious with the 33-year-old in his return from the injured list after dealing with a back injury. Expect him to continue splitting time between catcher and DH the rest of the season.

Ramos (back) was activated from the injured list Monday and will bat sixth and serve as the designated hitter against the Mariners, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos' lumbar strain wasn't considered a particularly serious one, so it's no surprise to see him back in action after the minimum 10 days. His .227/.265/.464 line prior to the injury isn't exactly designated hitter material, but the Tigers aren't exactly loaded with proven bats. He'd started at the position six times prior to Monday's contest, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he continued to start there frequently going forward.

Ramos (back) is feeling much better and could return from the injured list when first eligible Monday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was placed on the injured list with a lumbar strain last week, though the Tigers said he move was precautionary. He should return to his role as the team's primary catcher once healthy.

Ramos (back) is not expected to require a long stay on the injured list, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers placed the veteran catcher the IL as a precautionary measure, with manager A.J. Hinch saying Friday that Ramos is essentially day-to-day and the roster move may not have been necessary if he played a position other than catcher. Though he has struggled considerably of late, Ramos was an offensive catalyst for Detroit in the early weeks of the season and figures to once again be the starting catcher upon returning from the back injury.

Ramos was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a lumbar spine strain.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old was removed from Thursday's game against the Red Sox with tightness in his lower back, and he'll be sidelined for at least the next 10 days due to the injury. Ramos will be eligible to be activated May 17, though it's unclear if he's expected to face a longer absence. Grayson Greiner should take over primary duties behind the plate, and Jake Rogers was recalled from Triple-A Toledo.
