Scheppers (ankle) will begin the season on the 15-day DL, the Dallas Morning News reports. The team has a number of untested but live arms in the bullpen, but Scheppers once again begins a season less than 100 percent.

Scheppers (ankle) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Scheppers is expected to begin the season on the disabled list this season, but it's a good sign that he's progressing. If all goes well in his recovery, he remains in line to serve as the setup man in front of Neftali Feliz, with a possible shot at the closing role should Feliz get injured or falter.

Scheppers (ankle) underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed no structural damage, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports. Scheppers is still unlikely to be ready for Opening Day, but the results of the MRI are encouraging nonetheless and will allow him to resume throwing in the near future. The 28-year-old could begin the season on the disabled list which would sideline him until at least April 11, but he's expected to fill in as the team's primary setup man when he returns to full health.

Scheppers (ankle) is unlikely to be ready for Opening Day, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Scheppers traveled back to Texas to have his ankle examined, after undergoing an MRI on Monday. In the likely event he's placed on the disabled list, he'll be eligible to make his season debut April 11. Once healthy, Scheppers is expected to work as the primary setup man in front of closer Neftali Feliz.

Scheppers (ankle) could be forced to begin the season on the disabled list, The Dallas Morning News reports. Scheppers went in for an MRI Monday, indicating that his ankle was still a bit sore. He's only pitched 3.2 innings in "A" games this spring, and would likely need to get in some more work in the final week before the season to be ready. If he ends up on the DL, Scheppers would be eligible to return April 11.

Scheppers is getting an MRI on his sore right ankle Monday, the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant reports. He experienced right ankle discomfort over the weekend, and had injured the same ankle earlier in camp. The team says the MRI is precautionary, but any time a player gets an MRI it could lead to something significant. Continue to monitor his status for news of the results of the MRI.

Scheppers (ankle) made his spring debut Saturday with a scoreless inning, the team's web site reports. Scheppers allowed a pair of hits and was throwing his fastball 96 mph. He's expected to be ready to resume setup duties when the season begins.

Scheppers ,being brought along slowly this spring due to last year's elbow injury, was scratched from his scheduled "B" game appearance due to a sprained ankle according to the team's web site. Scheppers will need to pitch out of the bullpen before making his spring debut, which now figures to take place around the the middle of next week.

Scheppers (elbow) felt good during his first session of live batting practice Thursday, the team's web site reports. Scheppers is expected to begin the year as the primary setup man to Neftali Feliz after missing most of last season due to injury.

Scheppers (elbow) said he felt good during a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, mlb.com's T.R. Sullivan reports.Scheppers was throwing bullpen sessions back in October, so there's no reason that he shouldn't be feeling good. After Neftali Feliz struggled to miss bats last year, Scheppers might eventually find himself with a shot to close games, though Feliz is the obvious favorite to open the season in that role.
