Castro went 2-for-5 with a home run, double, three RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Castro had a big day at the dish, delivering a two-run homer in the first inning -- his fourth of the season. He later added an RBI double, chipping in to a 10-run fifth inning for the Marlins. While the home run was his first since April 25, Castro has swung the bat well of late by recording at least one hit in eight of his last 10 games to along with 10 RBI and seven runs scored.

Castro went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in Tuesday's win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran second baseman is finally starting to put together something vaguely resembling a hot streak, hitting safety in seven of the last eight games, although that stretch has still only produced a .265/.286/.294 slash line. Castro's gone 27 games without a home run, and with Isan Diaz on a tear at Triple-A New Orleans, the Marlins' next big roster move could come at the keystone.

Castro went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Friday's loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
His last multi-hit performance came May 8, and Castro hit a sluggish .214 (9-for-42) with just one extra-base hit and one RBI over the 11-game stretch in between. The second baseman is slashing a miserable .231/.275/.290 on the year, doing nothing to enhance his trade value, and barring a big surge over the summer, the Marlins -- or whoever he's playing for after the trade deadline -- figure to cut him loose in the offseason and exercise the $1 million buyout on the final year of his contract rather than pay him $16 million in 2020.

Castro went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs in 11 innings.
EDGE Analysis
The three hits tied Castro's season-high mark and ended a 1-for-30 skid at the plate over the prior eight contests. All of the hits were singles, however, leaving Castro with just one extra-base hit (a home run) dating back to April 9. According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, Castro will stick in the lineup for Thursday's series finale as the Marlins' No. 5 hitter.

Castro went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk Thursday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Castro took Hector Neris deep in the top of the 10th inning to supply the game-winning home run. It was his third of the season, two of which have come at home. He's provided little else however, as he has only one other extra-base hit and has failed to rack up counting stats as a part of one of the worst lineups in the league.

Castro went 1-for-3 with a walk in Monday's loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
The second baseman hasn't recorded an RBI in 11 games despite hitting third for the Marlins, which says as much about the performance of the hitters above him as it does Castro's own struggles. His .159/.213/.182 slash line over that stretch is far from adequate, however, and while the veteran's starting job is probably safe, manager Don Mattingly could bump him down in the order until he shows more consistency.

Castro went 3-for-5 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Castro took Jason Vargas deep for his second home run in as many days. It's encouraging to see Castro produce power at home after he slugged just .380 at Marlins Park last season, though he has no extra-base hits other than his two home runs. He'll look to keep his strong early-season performance going Wednesday, but will have a tough matchup as Jacob deGrom takes the hill for the Mets.

Castro went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and a walk in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Castro launched a two-run shot in the first inning before bringing home the third run with a sixth-inning single. It was his first multi-hit effort of the season as well as his first extra-base hit.

Castro went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The second baseman hasn't been able to find his stroke yet this spring, and Castro is still looking for his first extra-base hit while going 5-for-29 with 10 strikeouts and no walks in 11 games. There's been no suggestion Castro is battling any kind of injury this spring, but after seeing his power numbers droop last year following the move from the Yankees to Marlins, it would be reassuring to see him make some hard contact before camp breaks.

Castro (personal) will start at second base and bat second against the Mets on Friday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro is back in the starting lineup after missing the past three contests while awaiting the birth of his child. Across 151 games this year, he's slashed .278/.329/.400 with 12 home runs, 54 RBI and six stolen bases.
