Van Slyke (back) is scheduled to be activated over the weekend, David Vassegh of AM570 reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the emergence of Trayce Thompson and the continued presence of Carl Crawford, there doesn't appear to be much playing time on the horizon for Van Slyke.

Van Slyke (back) is scheduled to play nine innings at first base Tuesday at Triple-A Oklahoma City, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily news reports.
EDGE Analysis
The expectation for Van Slyke is that he will be ready to return to the Dodgers in approximately one week barring a setback along the way in the final stages of his rehab work.

Van Slyke (lower back) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke has needed two weeks of baseball activity to get his conditioning back up, but now he's ready to begin a rehab assignment Sunday. He has been on the disabled list since April 9, so the Dodgers will likely want to have Van Slyke play several games on his rehab assignment before activating him. Regardless, the fact that he's ready to start a rehab assignment is a major step in the right direction for the veteran outfielder.

Van Slyke (back) could potentially begin a rehab assignment soon, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke has been at the Dodgers complex in Arizona, and has been increasing his workouts recently. He has been out of action since April 9. He will likely play a few games in Triple-A to get readjusted before returning to the big club.

Van Slyke (back) has been cleared to participate in baseball activities and will do so this week according to manager Dave Roberts on Wednesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 12 following a lower back injury that occurred during a game on April 9. He is expected to return sometime in early June barring any setbacks, and will look to rediscover his 2014 form (.297/.386/.524 in 98 games) after having a disappointing season last year. His injury has not caused the Dodgers many issues due to their loaded outfield group, but Van Slyke provides added depth and a decent bat against southpaws.

Van Slyke (back) isn't expected to return from the disabled list until at least June, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke hasn't been cleared to do any baseball activities since being placed on the 15-day DL back on April 12, so until he resumes working out again, it'll be difficult to speculate on a return date. Fortunately for the Dodgers, they're about as well-stocked as any squad in the league in outfield depth, so Van Slyke's ongoing absence shouldn't hurt the team, especially with Carl Crawford (back) recently returning from the DL.

Van Slyke (back) is yet to return to baseball activities, the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke has now been on the DL for two weeks after aggravating a lower-back injury against the Giants on April 12. The Dodgers haven't provided much of an update, but a report last week suggested Van Slyke could end up missing upwards of a month when all is said and done. Manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Van Slyke is working to strengthen his core muscles, but it doesn't sound as though the team has set a date for a return to baseball activities.

Van Slyke (back) is "several weeks away from returning" after it was revealed Wednesday that his back injury is more severe than initially thought, J.P Hoonstra of the Southern California News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke landed on the DL early in the season due to lower back injury that he aggravated on a swing against the Giants. He was able to begin doing some core work as early as this past weekend, but L.A Times beat writer Andy McCullough is reporting that Van Slyke won't be cleared for baseball activities until next week at the earliest. McCullough further notes that Van Slyke could be out for upwards of another month. As such, Enrique Hernandez and Howie Kendrick ought to continue seeing most of the playing time in left field, and Carl Crawford's impending return will add further depth to the outfield.

Van Slyke (back) hasn't yet resumed baseball activities, but is doing some core work, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke's lower back issue isn't considered severe, however he seems to be taking it easy and rest the injury. Enrique Hernandez and Howie Kendrick are likely to continue filling his spot while Van Slyke works his way back into things.
