Van Slyke (wrist) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
This move officially closes the door on a return for Van Slyke during the regular season -- he was placed on the 15-day DL on Aug. 8. Van Slyke struggled to a .606 OPS in his 52 games this year, and while he probably wouldn't command a whole lot in arbitration this winter, the Dodgers may just opt to non-tender him and move on.

Van Slyke (wrist) was placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Aug. 8, with right wrist irritation.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke was held out of Monday's game most likely due to the same issue and will now officially head to the disabled list to return to full strength. The 30-year-old was struggling at the plate recently, going 4-for-23 (.174) in his last 11 games and could likely use a mental break as much as a physical break before he returns for the playoff push.

Van Slyke had a .271/.345/.313 line during July.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke's on-base percentage rose .058 points during July and he received 10 starts in July compared to seven in June. While he may be seeing more starts of late with the continued absence of Trayce Thompson (back) and recent demotion of Yasiel Puig, and even recent stints at first base, don't expect reliable plate appearances from the 30-year-old.

Van Slyke went 2-for-4 with a double and three-run homer in the 3-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
That was his first bomb of the season. Since coming back into the lineup Monday, Van Slyke has a modest three-game hitting streak. Perhaps this will get Van Slyke some more steady playing time. He's had an uneven role since returning from the disabled list, and that's probably partially why he's hitting just .185 with one homer this season.

Van Slyke is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dave Roberts will give Kendrick the nod in left Tuesday in place of Van Slyke. The veteran Van Slyke has had an uneven role since returning from the DL, rarely getting starts on back-to-back days. His value in the past has hinged on his ability to hit left-handed pitching, but Van Slyke is hitless in four at-bats against southpaws this season.

Van Slyke is in the lineup and batting eighth for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jody Jackson of Fox Sports Arizona reports.
EDGE Analysis
Van Slyke will get a rare start, but his fantasy value remains slim-to-none as he is just 1-for-18 on the season.

Van Slyke is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers will use an outfield trio of Trayce Thompson, Joc Pederson, and Howie Kendrick for Tuesday's game against righty Eddie Butler and the Rockies. Van Slyke is mostly used when the Dodgers face left-handed pitchers, so he could draw back into the lineup Wednesday when the Dodgers face southpaw Chris Rusin.

Van Slyke is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Although Van Slyke was activated off the disabled list Friday, he will have to wait another day before rejoining the lineup. Trayce Thompson will draw the start again in right field Saturday as the Dodgers take on Bud Norris and the Braves.

Van Slyke (back) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 in Los Angeles reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers were expected to activate Van Slyke later in their weekend series against the Braves, but Yasiel Puig's placement on the disabled list led to the 29-year-old coming off the DL a day early. Van Slyke figures to see a decent chunk of playing time in right while Puig is sidelined, but Trayce Thompson's recent surge at the plate could put a cap on his role.

Van Slyke (back) will be activated off the disabled list Saturday or Sunday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dave Roberts indicated that Van Slyke's impending activation could hinge on the statuses of Yasiel Puig (hamstring) and Howie Kendrick (shoulder). MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports that Kendrick will be available off the bench Friday, so it seems that Puig is the key piece of this equation. Still, with several of Los Angeles' outfielders battling injury, Van Slyke's activation over the weekend will add some much-needed depth to the outfield rotation.
