Feldman allowed one run during two innings of action during Houston's victory over Arizona on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman showed significant improvement in May, posting a 2.84 ERA after pitching 12.2 innings as a reliever. His control made the most progress, for his K/BB ratio of 13.0 was monumentally better than April's mark of 1.5. Feldman's opponent batting average remains high, currently sitting at .284, but it's apparent that the 33-year-old righty is much more suited for a bullpen role at this point in his career, as his ERA is the third lowest among the Astros' relievers.

Feldman threw three perfect inning out of the bullpen and struck out three in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the A's.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran acquitted himself very well in his first relief appearance since 2012, breezing through three innings on just 34 pitches, 22 of which went for strikes. The purpose of the role reversal Saturday between Feldman and rookie Chris Devenski was to give the latter an extended look, and the experiment worked out very well all around.

Feldman will be available to pitch out of the Astros' bullpen for Friday's series opener at Oakland, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman was originally scheduled to start Saturday against the A's, but Houston wants to get a better look at Chris Devenski, who will start that game instead. The 33-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched in relief since 2012, but he'll remain in the bullpen for at least one turn in the rotation.

Feldman will not start Saturday against the A's, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Chris Devenski is now slated to start Saturday, while Feldman will be made available out of the bullpen for at least one turn in the rotation. Feldman was knocked around for five runs (three earned) on eight hits over 4.1 innings Sunday, raising his ERA and WHIP to 4.58 and 1.88, respectively. He's walked almost as many batters (11) as he's struck out (13) in 19.2 innings this season.

Feldman struggled in Sunday's start versus Boston, allowing three runs on eight hits and four strikeouts in just 4.1 innings. He struck out three and did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran simply couldn't get in a rhythm Sunday, as he threw just 60 of 103 pitches for strikes and allowed four extra-base hits in the short outing. Feldman now has a 4.58 ERA through 19.2 innings, and he will look to reverse his fortunes Saturday at Oakland.

Feldman (0-2) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks over five innings in a loss Tuesday against Texas. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman induced 12 ground ball outs but just couldn't miss bats. The Rangers whiffed just four times against 96 pitches from Feldman. His 4.11 ERA hides even worse peripherals -- Feldman allowed his third home run of the season against the Rangers and now has an underwhelming 10:7 K:BB in 15.1 innings.

Feldman allowed two unearned runs on seven hits and a walk over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The runs were unearned because of a throwing error by Feldman himself -- hey, that's one way to shave points off the ol' ERA. Unfortunately, they also made a big difference in a close game, denying Feldman the win and ultimately leading to a loss. The veteran has put up sub-4.00 ERAs in three consecutive seasons, but his FIP has been north of 4.00 in each one. It's hard to count on the 33-year-old Feldman continuing that streak of good fortune.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch said Feldman will follow Dallas Keuchel, Collin McHugh and Mike Fiers as the No. 4 starter to open 2016, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman, who has a 4.50 ERA over four Grapefruit League starts, will serve as an innings-eater in the final year of his contract with the Astros. The 33-year-old right-hander has finished with a sub-four ERA in four of the last five seasons, but his lack of strikeouts (5.07 K/9 in 2015) isn't appealing for fantasy purposes.

Feldman worked on his changeup during Wednesday's minor league intrasquad game, Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman cruised through four innings, tossing 45 pitches before throwing a dozen more in the bullpen. "Today I was sort of in a situation where I could work a little bit more on my changeup," the veteran right-hander said. "It's a pitch I've probably been working on for 12 years. Hopefully all this work will eventually pay off. With Lance McCullers (shoulder) set to open 2016 on the DL, Feldman is now guaranteed a rotation spot after previously competing with Scott Feldman and Mike Fiers for the fourth and fifth starter jobs in camp.

Making his first outing since suffering a shoulder sprain on September 1, Feldman was perfect over two innings in his Grapefruit League debut Sunday against Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old, who did not require surgery in the offseason, is competing with Doug Fister and Mike Fiers for one of the final two spots in the Astros' starting rotation.
