Feldman gave up just a single run on four hits over seven innings in Thursday's no-decision against Baltimore. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman and Wade Miley engaged in an impressive pitchers' duel, but the Cincy bullpen blew it. The veteran righty now has a shiny-looking 2.38 ERA, but his 4.02 FIP presents a more authentic picture of what he brings to the table. Feldman's finished the last four seasons with ERAs under 4.00, but his high-contact approach on the mound makes him a volatile fantasy asset.

Feldman was brilliant Sunday against the Cardinals, shutting them out for six innings on four hits and a walk, striking out six. Five of his six strikeouts came between the fourth and sixth innings after earlier getting most of his outs via the ground ball, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman credited better command than what he had on Opening Day for the positive results. He'll next face the Brewers back in Cincinnati on Friday.

Feldman gave up three runs on seven hits (including two first-inning homers) and two walks over 4.2 innings on Monday, striking out six while getting the loss against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman gave up a homer to Cesar Hernandez to start the game and fell behind 3-0 by the second inning. At least to his credit he held the line there before getting pulled in the fifth inning. This probably won't end up being a reprise of the Alfredo Simon "innings-eater" experience from 2016, but Feldman's upside isn't that much higher.

Feldman will be the Reds' Opening Day starter.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds will be the third team for which Feldman will take the mound on Opening Day, and it'll mark his first official appearance for the club. Feldman split last season between the Astros and the Blue Jays, compiling a combined 3.97 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 40 appearances (five starts).

Feldman gave up four runs over 3.1 innings against the Giants on Saturday, allowing three homers, all on breaking balls.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman is supposed to be one of the stable elements in the Reds rotation, with three spots currently open following the bad news on Anthony DeSclafani. "My shoulder feels good, my arm feels good. Now it's about executing pitches," Feldman said. "Obviously, three home runs today -- those usually happen when you don't execute your pitches, especially out here in Arizona. I've got to get that stuff tightened up and out of the way now and work on some things in the bullpen, work on not hanging some breaking balls and kind of finishing that pitch a little better."

Feldman pitched three scoreless innings in his spring training start against the Royals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman was particularly effective using his changeup Saturday. "It was a good day," Feldman said. "I tried to get on the changeup program today and threw a lot of them. Me and (catcher Rob) Brantly talked a lot about that today and called it a lot and did a great job behind the plate."

Feldman will no longer pitch in the WBC for Team Israel, even if they advance out of the first round.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman instead wants to focus on making the Reds' rotation and get as many spring training reps as possible. "I'd rather be here," said Feldman. "It's a new team and I'm trying to worry about this team. I have too much at stake."

Manager Bryan Price said Thursday that he sees the recently-signed Feldman as one of four pitchers with a rotation spot heading into camp, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Feldman is no stranger to the starting rotation despite spending time in the bullpen with both Houston and Toronto last season, as the 12-year veteran has started 183 of his 321 career appearances on the mound. The 6-7 lefty will be 34 years old when the season begins, and hasn't had a season-long K/9 over 7.0 since 2012. He'll eat up innings in Cincinnati, but don't be surprised if the team looks to see what they have in younger options down the stretch.

Feldman signed a one-year contract with the Reds on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old hurler posted mediocre numbers, mainly as a reliever, between Houston and Toronto last season. He may wind up in a similar role for the Reds Reds in 2017, but he could be a candidate for the back end of the rotation given the team's lack of depth.. Feldman's base contract will net him $2.3 million in 2017, but he could make up to $4.5 million should he hit all of the contract's incentive bonuses.

Feldman has logged just three innings in four appearances this month.
EDGE Analysis
Manager John Gibbons lost confidence in the veteran right-hander following a rough August in which Feldman posted a 7.50 ERA over 10 appearances. He managed a nifty 2.90 ERA over 62 innings (five starts and 21 relief appearances) with Houston before being traded to Toronto at the beginning of August, but he has failed to sniff such success since the move. With the team in the heat of a playoff race, it's extremely unlikely that Feldman will get an opportunity to make a fantasy impact before the season ends.
