Roy Halladay turned in one of his worst starts in recent memory on Wednesday, giving up eight runs on 12 hits in just 5 1/3 innings against the Braves. Halladay was staked to a 6-0 lead in the fifth inning and appeared to be well on his way to picking up an easy victory. But the Braves erupted for six runs on six hits in the fifth inning alone, capped off by a three-run homer from Brian McCann. Halladay came back out for the sixth inning but surrendered two more hits before being lifted for a reliever. The poor outing raises his ERA from 1.95 to 3.40. He'll look to put this one behind him and get back on track when he takes on the Mets on Monday.

Roy Halladay took his first loss after allowing two runs in seven innings Saturday against the Padres. Halladay walked three batters in a row for the first time in his career, as Yonder Alonso, Cameron Maybin and Jason Bartlett all worked free passes in the second. That led to one of the two runs, even though Halladay didn't give up a hit in the inning. Outside of that, Halladay was fine. He walked just one batter over the rest of the outing, and he struck out five. He's now gone four straight starts without allowing a homer.

Roy Halladay pitched eight innings and allowed two runs Monday in a victory over the Giants. Halladay seems on cruise control already. He's 3-0 with a 1.17 ERA, having worked 23 innings over his three starts. He still hasn't given up a homer this season, and since his next start is in San Diego, odds are that streak will be extended.

Roy Halladay breezed by the Marlins in Wednesday's 7-1 win, allowing just one run on five hits in seven innings of work. Doc punched out three and issued one free pass, throwing 109 pitches. He's now allowed just one run and seven hits through his first 15 innings of work, providing him with a sparkling 0.60 ERA and 0.53 WHIP. His next victim should be the Giants on Monday.

Roy Halladay allowed two runs in two innings Saturday in his tuneup against the Blue Jays. Edwin Encarnacion hit the seventh homer allowed by Halladay this spring. Halladay will carry a 5.73 ERA into his Opening Day start, but after the way he pitched in his previous two starts, there doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.

Roy Halladay will start Opening Day against the Pirates on April 5. Not a big surprise. This will be Halladay's third straight Opening Day start with the Phillies and the tenth of his career, leading all active pitchers. He'll be followed by Cliff Lee and Vance Worely in Pittsburgh, which sets up Cole Hamels to start the home opener against the Marlins on April 9. The Phillies are considering skipping Joe Blanton's turn in the rotation because of the early off-days, but no final decision has been made.

Roy Halladay downplayed concerns over his velocity Thursday and denied that he is dealing with an injury. "That's poor reporting," said Halladay. "The extreme end of poor reporting. It couldn't be further from the truth." To be fair, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com never implied that Halladay was hurt, but just passed along word that scouts were concerned with what they saw after the 34-year-old right-hander topped out at 89 mph during Wednesday's start against the Twins. Halladay was apparently working on some different arm slots and his secondary pitches on Wednesday, so it's much too early to panic. However, if he's still around 89 mph at the end of the spring, there would obviously be reason for concern.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Roy Halladay topped out at 89 mph in his Wednesday start. Halladay, who averaged 92 mph with his fastball in 2011, surrendered five runs in just 2 2/3 innings Wednesday afternoon to a light-hitting Twins lineup. He was working on a few different arm slots, so there's no real reason for concern quite yet. But another disastrous spring outing would bring about some serious red flags. The 34-year-old right-hander allowed just one run across 21 2/3 innings last year in the Grapefruit League.

Roy Halladay surrendered three runs and two homers in three innings Friday against the Tigers. Halladay did just fine against the other eight batters he faced, but he couldn't contain Eric Patterson, who was responsible for both homers. Halladay still finished with four strikeouts and no walks. His 7.20 spring ERA is hardly a cause for alarm.

Roy Halladay yielded one run in two innings versus the Yankees in a no-decision Sunday. Alex Rodriguez delivered an opposite field homer in the first, but Halladay was otherwise fine. He struck out three and walked none on the day.
