The Phillies will skip Roberto Hernandez's next turn through the rotation. The Phils have a couple off days on the schedule, allowing them to use their No. 5 starter in relief for a bit. Kyle Kendrick will move up to start Friday, while Cole Hamels will get the ball Saturday.

Roberto Hernandez tossed 7 1/3 scoreless innings to lead the Phillies to a 1-0 win over the Nationals on Sunday. Hernandez had his sinker working early and often Sunday, recording 13 ground ball outs while striking out just three. He limited the Nationals to four singles and three walks in his time on the hill. The strong outing moved his record to 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 34 innings of work. He's next got a date with the Mets at Citi Field on Friday.

Roberto Hernandez is likely to have his next turn in the rotation skipped. The Phillies have a couple off days this week, so they're expected to use Hernandez in the bullpen until May 6. "He's done it before," manager Ryne Sandberg said. "He knows the routine of pitching an inning or two. It could be good for us the next few days."

Roberto Hernandez gave up four runs in six innings Friday in a loss to the Diamondbacks. Hernandez is still getting his grounders, but he's doing it in front of an old infield, and he's also giving up too many homers and walks. As a result, his ERA stands at 5.81 after five starts. He's not close to being replaced, but he shouldn't be on fantasy rosters.

Roberto Hernandez allowed six runs on nine hits over four innings of a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday. Hernandez had a 3.86 ERA going into the start and a 5.75 ERA afterwards. The best part of the day for Hernandez was the fact that the Phillies came back to win the game, saving the right-hander from taking his first loss. A matchup with the struggling Diamondbacks offense Friday could be the cure to what ails Hernandez.

Roberto Hernandez allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings and took the no-decision in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers. Hernandez was hit hard at times, but also struck out nine, the most he has struck out since September 2007. He also walked one and allowed seven hits, including a solo home run to Carlos Gomez in the fourth inning. Hernandez will face the Braves the next time he takes the mound.

Roberto Hernandez was tagged for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Hernandez is having quite the Jekyll and Hyde spring, though maybe that's appropriate given his past identity change. Last week, he was perfect for five innings before giving up a lone single. Today, he gave up 11 hits, including a homer and a couple of doubles. This is the kind of inconsistency Phillies fans should probably get used to.

Roberto Hernandez was perfect for five innings before giving up a single in the sixth Thursday in the Phillies' 6-2 win over a Yankees split-squad. Hernandez was pulled immediately after the single. Of his 15 outs, 10 came on the ground, which is exactly what the Phillies want to see from him. He has a 2.04 ERA after four starts. Still, he shouldn't be regarded as more than a $1 pick in NL-only leagues.

Roberto Hernandez bounced back from a shaky spring debut to shut out the Rays for three innings on Monday. Hernandez, allowed a homer and two runs against the Jays last week, allowed just one hit, walked none and struck out three today. He's the clear favorite to be the Phillies' fifth starter.

Roberto Hernandez gave up two runs and four hits in two innings Wednesday against the Blue Jays. With the wind blowing out, Hernandez's sinker should have given him the advantage over the Jays' pitching today. However, he left a bunch of pitches up, one of which was absolutely clobbered by Jose Bautista in the first. Hernandez was guaranteed $4.5 million by the Phillies, so for better or for worse, he's almost certainly going to have a rotation spot. Fantasy value, on the other hand, is far from a given.
