Philip Humber left the White Sox on Tuesday morning to be with his wife as she gives birth. Humber is expected to return before his scheduled Thursday start against the Red Sox. The 29-year-old right-hander hurled the 21st perfect game in major league history on Saturday afternoon vs. the Mariners.

Phil Humber pitched the game of his life on his way into the record books on Saturday, retiring all 27 Mariners that he faced in order. Humber was absolutely brilliant, striking out nine hitters in the process of achieving perfection. He only needed 96 pitches to get through the masterpiece, the last of which got Brendan Ryan on a check-swing, called third strike. This was the 19th perfect game in MLB history, and the first since Roy Halladay's effort against the Marlins in May of 2010. Humber now owns the third perfect game (18th no-hitter) in the proud history of the White Sox, joining Mark Buehrle (2009) and Charlie Robertson (1922). He improves to 1-0 on the season and owns a miniscule 0.63 ERA. Humber will likely attract a lot of attention when he takes on the Red Sox on Wednesday next week.

Philip Humber pitched relatively well in his season debut Monday but picked up a no-decision, allowing one run on six hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Orioles. He struck out seven and was in line for the win before the bullpen blew up. The three walks weren't ideal, but Humber was about as good as could be expected given his long layoff. He has a nice matchup this weekend in Seattle.

Philip Humber will be skipped in the White Sox rotation. Humber was supposed to start Tuesday against the Indians, but that game was rained out. Rather than let him start on Wednesday, the White Sox will keep John Danks on his regular schedule. It makes sense.

Philip Humber tossed two innings in his spring debut Monday, allowing one run on one hit against the Dodgers. He was scheduled to throw just one inning, but came out for the second after sending the Dodgers down in order in the first. Humber turned in a 5.87 Cactus League ERA last spring before going on to post a 3.75 mark in 163 regular-season frames.

Phil Humber will start Monday's Cactus League opener against the Dodgers. He is scheduled to throw one inning. Humber is assured of a rotation spot after posting a surprising 3.75 ERA and 116/41 K/BB ratio over 163 innings last season, but we wouldn't pay for a repeat in fantasy leagues.

Philip Humber struck out nine while allowing one run and two hits in 6 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Blue Jays. That's a new high in strikeouts for him. Humber ends the year 9-9 with a 3.75 ERA in 162 innings. He'll probably be penciled in as the fourth or fifth starter in the White Sox rotation next spring, though that could depend on what happens with Chris Sale and free agent Mark Buehrle.

Philip Humber was knocked around again for a second straight start Thursday, giving up seven runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings in a loss to the Indians. This comes on the heels of a start last week when the Royals touched him up for six runs - five earned. Dating back to before his time on the disabled list, Humber has allowed four or more runs in seven of his last nine starts, taking the luster off his good early-season pitching. Still the owner of a solid 3.86 ERA and 1.19 WHIP, his final start will come against the Blue Jays.

Phillip Humber was touched up by the Royals Friday, giving up six runs - five earned - on nine hits and two walks over six innings in a 7-6 loss. A Juan Pierre fielding error in the first opened the door to two runs before Mike Moustakas got to Humber with a two-run blast in the fourth inning. Humber had been terrific in his two outings since returning from the disabled list, but he simply didn't have it in this one. The righty will bring a 3.59 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into next week's start against the Indians.

White Sox activated RHP Philip Humber from the 15-day disabled list. Humber didn't pitch particularly well in his lone rehab start, but the important thing is that he's healthy. He'll rejoin the rotation for Monday's doubleheader and will likely eventually boot Zach Stewart to a long relief role. Humber was really struggling in recent outings before his injury and would be a dangerous fantasy proposition even against the Twins.
