Corbin (back) played catch from 90 feet Friday and beginning to feel better, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin was forced to leave Tuesday's game against Atlanta early due to back spasms. If he continues to feel better once he throws again Saturday, he could rejoin the rotation and avoid spending time on the injured list.

Corbin exited Tuesday's start in Atlanta due to back spasms, Paul Mancano of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin threw just 12 pitches and recorded only two outs before the back spasms forced him to leave Tuesday's contest. The 33-year-old will continue to be evaluated over the next few days, leaving his availability for the next turn through the rotation up in the air.

Corbin was removed from Tuesday's game against Atlanta with an apparent injury, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin recorded a strikeout, allowed a single and induced popout before he exited Tuesday's contest with the unspecified injury. The veteran left-hander should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.

Corbin did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits over six innings with four strikeouts against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The only damage on the night came after a few singles and a couple of groundouts scored a run in the top of the second inning. Otherwise, Corbin held Baltimore in check to position himself to win before the bullpen blew the game for the Nationals. The southpaw has thrown six or more innings in five of his last six starts, four of which have been quality starts. In that stretch, his ERA has decreased from 7.02 to 6.11.

Corbin (6-18) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on 12 hits over 6.2 innings as the Nationals were downed 5-3 by the Phillies. He struck out two without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran southpaw was hit hard, serving up home runs to Rhys Hoskins and J.T. Realmuto while tying his season high by allowing a dozen hits. Corbin saw his brief two-game winning streak snapped, and he's closing in on becoming just the second pitcher since 1980 to lose at least 20 games in a season, a dubious achievement Mike Maroth reached with the Tigers in 2003.

Corbin (6-17) allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings to earn the win Saturday over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin limited the damage to an Eduardo Escobar solo shot in the third inning. The game was tied through seven frames, but the Nationals gained the lead on a Lane Thomas solo home run in the eighth to put Corbin in line for consecutive wins for just the second time all year. This was also the southpaw's eighth quality start of the campaign. He's given up just four runs in his last 18.1 innings, though he's also yielded three homers in that span. For the year, he has a 6.28 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 118:46 K:BB through 134.2 innings. He's projected to make his next start in Philadelphia if the Nationals utilize a six-man rotation -- if it's a traditional five-man rotation, Corbin would line up for a start in St. Louis.

Corbin (5-17) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out five and earning a win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin yielded an unearned run in the first inning before serving up a solo homer to Stuart Fairchild in the second. The veteran southpaw then turned in four straight scoreless frames to earn his first win since June 28. He'd gone 0-7 with an abysmal 8.32 ERA in nine outings since that last victory. Corbin will carry a 6.56 ERA into his projected road outing against the Mets next weekend.

Corbin (4-17) allowed two runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three in 5.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin had given up at least four runs in seven straight starts entering Sunday, so this was a noticeable improvement. He yielded a two-run home run to former teammate Josh Bell in the sixth inning, and that was ultimately enough to send Corbin to the loss. The struggling southpaw has a 6.81 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 108:44 K:BB through 121.2 innings through 25 starts this year. He's tentatively projected for a home start versus the Reds next weekend.

Corbin did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over six innings in the Nationals' extra-innings loss vs the Cubs. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The Cubs got to Corbin a few times Tuesday, as he allowed runners to score in the second, fourth and sixth innings, but Corbin managed to finish the sixth and give the Nationals an opportunity to win the game. This was the southpaw's first start reaching the six-inning milestone since July 9 as he just completed a five-game stretch in which he allowed 26 runs to score over 15.2 innings. Perhaps the better performance is a sign that things are turning around. He is next scheduled to take on the newly revamped Padres lineup this weekend.

Corbin's next scheduled start will be pushed back from Friday to Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin has given up a whopping 30 earned runs in 21.2 innings over his last six starts, so the Nationals decided to bump him back a few days and give him added to time to make adjustments before his next start. Barring any further changes to the rotation, Corbin's next start will come Tuesday at home against the Cubs.
