Corbin did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over 5.1 innings against the Cubs. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Most of the damage against Corbin came in the sixth inning, as the lefty allowed a solo homer to Seiya Suzuki and then back-to-back singles to Ian Happ and Cody Bellinger as part of a two-run inning. prior to the sixth frame, however, Corbin was much better and allowed just one baserunner to reach second. Corbin has undergone an up-and-down stretch over the four starts leading up to Tuesday's tilt, allowing one or fewer runs in two starts while giving up six or more in the other pair of appearances.

Corbin (6-10) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over seven innings against the Rangers. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
After taking the loss in five of his last six starts, Corbin picked up a win against one of baseball's top offenses Sunday. He got off to an incredible start, retiring each of the first 10 batters he faced to end up with one run against him across seven frames. The left-hander has had a rollercoaster stretch of starts, allowing six or more runs in two of his past four starts but has given up just one run between his other two appearances. Overall, Corbin owns a 4.89 ERA through 19 starts, a solid improvement from his ugly 6.31 ERA in 2022. Corbin's tentatively scheduled to make his next start during a three-game series with St. Louis right after the All-Star break.

EDGE Analysis
Corbin just pitched Wednesday against the Mariners and will presumably be back by his next scheduled turn in the Nats' rotation. The 33-year-old lefty stands 5-9 with a 4.84 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 66:29 K:BB in 96.2 innings (17 starts) this season.

Corbin (5-9) earned the win Wednesday, allowing five hits and no walks over seven scoreless innings against the Mariners. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin had it going Wednesday, doing most of his damage with his four-seamer and slider as he limited the Mariners to five singles and no runs over seven strong innings. The left-hander struck out a season-high nine batters in the contest, while it also marked his first scoreless outing of his 2023 campaign. Corbin had lost his last four decisions coming in, all in June, so Wednesday's gem was certainly a step in the right direction.

The former Diamondback is in the midst of another rough season, as he currently has a 5.32 ERA after posting a 6.31 mark last year. The veteran southpaw's next chance to redeem himself is tentatively slated to be against the Mariners on Wednesday.
