Infante (groin) reported everything came back clean after undergoing an MRI and expects to be back later in the week, Matthew DeFranks of Fox Sports Kansas City reports. Infante suffered a groin strain in Sunday's contest, but it appears that he'll be back after only missing three or four days. Manager Ned Yost indicated that Infante could be available on an emergency basis Tuesday but is expected to take batting practice and should be able to return to full health by the end of the week.

Infante (groin) will not be placed on the DL and could be available Tuesday, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. Infante was forced out of Sunday's contest with a left groin strain and will be held out of the lineup Monday, but it appears he avoided a more serious ailment. If he is available Tuesday it will likely be off the bench, but at this point a return to the starting lineup later in the week seems possible.

Infante exited Sunday's game with a left groin strain, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Infante pulled up lame running the bases Sunday, and now the cause has been revealed. He's likely day-to-day at this point, but groin strains can result in a trip to the disabled list. The Royals will likely update his status at some point in the next couple days.

Infante left Sunday's game after appearing to injure himself while running the bases, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports. Infante was replaced in the game by Orlando Calixte, who will be making his MLB debut. With Alcides Escobar currently dealing with a knee injury, both Calixte and Christian Colon could see much more use than normal in the upcoming week's slate of games.

Infante is not in the lineup Thursday, the Kansas City Star's Andy McCullough reports. He has a six-game hitting streak going, but he does not have any multi-hit games over that stretch. Christian Colon will get the start Thursday, but Infante should be back in the mix this weekend.

Infante (elbow) is in the lineup for Opening Day on Monday, batting ninth, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. Infante had been suffering from some elbow inflammation in spring training, but it appears the issue has subsided enough that he's good to go. Assuming no setbacks occur, he should serve as the Royals' everyday second baseman this season.

Infante (elbow) went 3-for-3 with two doubles in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Diamondbacks. Infante has been dealing with elbow inflammation nearly all spring, but has still appeared in four games since expressing doubt regarding his Opening Day availability over a week ago. He may not be 100 percent pain-free, but a .353/.361/.471 slash line over 34 spring at-bats suggests he may be able to play through the discomfort. If manager Ned Yost decides to give Infante regular rest during the early parts of the season, however, Christian Colon would be the leading candidate to see extra work.

Infante is having doubts that he'll be ready for Opening Day, Jeffrey Flanagan of Royals.com reports. Infante has dealt with inflammation stemming from a bone spur in his right elbow throughout training camp. He's played in six training camp tilts but is apparently still dealing with some agitation and seems to be in doubt for April.
