Infante is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Infante received a day off Saturday, but after the Royals rolled to a 7-0 victory in that contest, manager Ned Yost has decided to stick with the winning lineup. As a result, Infante will find himself on the bench for the second game in a row, affording Christian Colon another start at the keystone.

Infante is out of the lineup for Saturday's matchup with the Indians, Vice President of Royals communications and brodcasting Mike Swanson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Infante will get his fourth day off of the season on Saturday, and be replaced at second base by Christian Colon. He is hitting just .243 against right-handers this season compared to Colon's .333, so the matchup makes sense for a rest day. Expext Infante to return to his typical duties at second base in Sunday's series finale.

Infante is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's the third Sunday afternoon game in a row in which Infante will sit out, as manager Ned Yost sees to be making a concerted effort to keep the 34-year-old fresh throughout the season. Christian Colon will make a start at the keystone while Infante rests.

Infante is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Infante continues to thrive in the early stages of the season with a batting average that sits at a spiffy .324 through 10 games, but manager Ned Yost will rest the second baseman for the second Sunday in a row. Given that Infante is 34 years old, he'll likely receive one day off a week, but he should hold down a regular starting role while he continues to hit well.

Infante is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Infante is off to a nice start through four games, going 4-for-13 at the dish with two RBI and two runs scored. While the early returns are encouraging, manager Ned Yost said he intends to give the 34-year-old periodic days off throughout the season in order to preserve him for the long haul. Infante will give way to Christian Colon at second base.

Infante went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and a run scored in Friday's 4-3 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
After doubling off Twins starter Ervin Santana earlier in the game, Infante plated Salvador Perez with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. The 15-year veteran's production figures to be relatively limited at the bottom of the order, but he's managed to start off the new season with a .333 average and two RBI over his first three contests.

Infante is hitting .313 (5-for-16) in six games this spring, but is still in a battle with Christian Colon for the starting second base job. "He's got to be healthy and productive. Hes doing OK," manager Ned Yost told MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Infante says he's fully healthy after surgery in November to shave a bone spur in his right elbow and has more power at the plate. Colon is hitting just .080 (2-for-25), so it would appear to be Infante's job to lose at this point.

Infante (elbow) is starting at second base Wednesday, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
EDGE Analysis
He missed the first week of spring training, but is now back in the mix and can be considered fully recovered from his elbow injury. Look for him to enter the season as the Royals' starter at the keystone.

Infante (elbow) is expected to miss the first 7-to-10 games of the Cactus League, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Once the celebration of the Royals' World Series title died down, Infante underwent surgery in November to shave down a bone spur in his right elbow, which may have had an impact on his waning adeptness at the plate. Indeed, he admitted that "I couldn't do anything I wanted to [in 2015]. We tried ice all the time. It didn't help." As a result, general manager Dayton Moore and manager Ned Yost have acknowledged that the battle at second base is wide open, with Christian Colon the logical in-house replacement if a move is made.
