Manager Jeff Banister offered only a mild endorsement of Feliz as the Rangers' closer after he blew his third save of the season Saturday against the Indians, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports. "We continue to evaluate everything," Banister said. "We can't stay status quo in doing some things when there has been a little bit of a pattern there. We haven't had consistent success. I'll look at where we are and who we have to face." In addition to intimating that Feliz's job could be under some pressure, the Rangers made significant chances to their bullpen Sunday morning, designating Kyuji Fujikawa for assignment and adding Tanner Scheppers and Ross Ohlendorf from Triple-A Round Rock. The bullpen roles for Feliz and others should be fully fleshed out in the games to come, but those prospecting for a potential change at closer may want to make a speculative add on Shawn Tolleson, who has a 3.86 ERA and 22:3 K:BB ratio over 16.1 innings.

Feliz blew his third save of the season, allowing three runs in the ninth in the 10-8 loss to the Indians. Feliz is in a rough stretch right now and has raised his ERA to 5.51 and his WHIP to an unsightly 1.71. With a career WHIP of 1.04, he'll likely turn things around, but if he doesn't he could lose his role as the closer.

Feliz pitched a perfect ninth Wednesday against the Royals for his sixth save of the season. Feliz only needed five pitches to close Wednesday's game, and he has now converted in four straight save opportunities after blowing two saves in a row.

Feliz gave up one run on two hits and a walk over one inning Tuesday against the Royals in a non-save situation. He came into a tie game in the ninth inning and gave up the lead, but the Rangers then evened the score in the bottom of the ninth only to lose in extra innings. Prior to Tuesday's outing Feliz had notched saves in each of his last three appearances, so he should still be the Rangers' closer going forward.

Feliz struck out two in a perfect ninth to pick up his fourth save in Thursday's win over the Rays. Feliz is off to a rocky start, with a 4.38 ERA and two blown saves in six chances, but he was perfect Thursday as he was in his previous outing Monday. The 27-year-old hasn't given up a run in his last three outings, and his role as the Rangers' closer is secure.

Feliz needed just 11 pitches to retire three Houston batters in picking up the save Monday. Feliz fanned two in the process, and it was a nice bounce-back effort after Feliz blew the save Friday night against the A's.

Feliz blew a save, allowing one run on two hits while retiring just one batter as the A's came from behind to defeat Texas 7-5 on Friday night. Feliz has been shaky this season with two blown saves and a 5.79 ERA, but this was not your typical save opportunity. Leading 5-0 heading into the top of the eighth, two Rangers relievers allowed Oakland back in the game and Feliz allowed in an inherited runner and the last of seven runs in the inning.

Feliz picked up his first win of the season on Sunday against the Angels, allowing a run on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts over two innings. Entering a tie game, Feliz breezed through the 10th inning and battled through some trouble in the 11th to close the game out after the Rangers had taken the lead. The four strikeouts were a positive sign, but Feliz's low usage thus far and his less than ideal ratios left a lot to be desired by his owners.

Feliz recorded his first save of the season Tuesday in a win against the Athletics, striking out one batter and only needing 11 pitches. Feliz is the clear-cut closer for the Rangers for now, but it will be important to monitor his performance going forward. The right-hander had some well-documented velocity issues last year and had played a combined 44 games in his previous three seasons.

Feliz reached 95 mph in his appearance Sunday and has yet to allow a run in four appearances this spring, the team's web site reports. Feliz doesn't have the flashy peripherals he did five years ago, but the increased velocity this spring from what he showed last September does bode well for a nice bounce-back season.
