Nate McLouth (knee) will start in center field and bat seventh Tuesday against the Marlins. McLouth has missed the last two games with left knee soreness, but he's feeling a lot better. He should see significant playing time until Denard Span (concussion) is ready to return.

Nate McLouth (knee) is available off the bench Monday. McLouth was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to left knee soreness and Nationals manager Matt Williams would like to stay away from using him on Monday if possible. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Nate McLouth had a solo homer, an RBI double and a walk against the Marlins on Monday. McLouth had great springs the last couple of years, but entered today at .200/.265/.333 with 10 strikeouts in 30 at-bats this year. The Nationals are paying him more than $5 million per year to be their fourth outfielder, so they're expecting him to produce.

Nationals signed OF Nate McLouth to a two-year, $10.75 million contract. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported news of an agreement last week while Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun passed along the details of the contract, which is said to include an option for a third year. McLouth, 32, batted .258/.329/.399 with 12 homers and 30 stolen bases for the Orioles this past season and should be an active fourth outfielder in Washington. However, it could be tough for him to carve out value in most mixed fantasy leagues.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Nationals have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Nate McLouth. Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun says the deal is for $10.75 million and also includes an option for a third season. The Nats don't have a starting spot for McLouth, but he can play all three outfield positions and is expected to get more playing time than your average fourth outfielder. The 32-year-old batted .258/.329/.399 with 12 homers and 30 stolen bases for the Orioles in 2013.

Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Orioles remain interested in re-signing Nate McLouth, and have spoken with his representatives in recent days. The 32-year-old outfielder earned $2 million on a one-year deal in 2013, and is seeking a multi-year contract this winter. McLouth is coming off a rebound season where he slashed .258/.329/.399 with 12 homers, 36 RBI and 30 steals. Whether back in Baltimore or elsewhere, he should be able to land a two-year pact as the strong side of an outfield platoon.

Nate McLouth went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts Wednesday in the Orioles' win over the Red Sox. McLouth may still be bothered by a sore right knee, but he's going to play through the discomfort as the O's try to lock up one of the American League Wild Card spots. McLouth is hitting .264/.335/.402 with 11 home runs and 30 stolen bases in 137 games this season.

Nate McLouth declared himself fine on Sunday, after X-rays on his injured knee came back negative. McLouth indicated that his knee was a little sore, but that he believed he could return to the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Red Sox in Boston. Fantasy owners may want to have a backup option available though, just in case the O's decide to give him a few extra days to rest.

Nate McLouth left Sunday's game against the Blue Jays after being hit on the right knee by a pitch. He'll probably undergo X-rays to see if he has something worse than a bruise. More should be known about McLouth's status after the game.
