Pelfrey gave up two runs on six hits and five walks while striking out two batters over 3.2 innings against the Orioles on Monday. He did not factor into the decision in the White Sox's 10-7 loss.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander began the game with a walk to Seth Smith, and his struggles finding the strike zone continued throughout the abbreviated start. Pelfrey needed 83 pitches to record 11 outs and has now failed to go more than 5.1 innings in all but one of his 10 outings. The White Sox don't have a slew of ready alternatives, but both James Shields (shoulder) and Carlos Rodon (biceps) are getting closer, which means Pelfrey may not be long for the rotation.

Pelfrey (2-5) allowed three runs on six hits, three walks and a hit batsman while striking out four over 5.1 innings in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Pelfrey allowed a bushel of baserunners through the first four innings before recording his only 1-2-3 inning in the fifth, but gave the White Sox a chance. Pelfrey, who was coming off a nice three-game stretch, certainly could have been better but got little support from a dormant offense against Tampa Bay's Jacob Faria who was making his first start in the majors. His next start comes Monday at home against the Orioles.

Pelfrey was removed from Wednesday's loss to Boston after pitching five scoreless innings because of how he's fared going through an opponent's lineup a third time, Collen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports. He left with the White Sox leading, 1-0, after throwing just 83 pitches.
EDGE Analysis
Going into Wednesday's game, opponents were hitting .220 the first time they faced Pelfrey, .143 the second and .556 the third. Manager Rick Renteria's plan was to limit the right-hander to five innings no matter what, then hand it over to a bullpen that's been one of the better ones in the majors this season. Unfortunately, it all unraveled once Pelfrey left the game. It's a sound plan and we can't fault the reasoning, but Pelfrey was in control of Boston's lineup, and he deserved the chance to throw another inning.

Pelfrey held the Red Sox scoreless over five innings Wednesday, striking out five while allowing just two hits and two walks in a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Pelfrey's bullpen blew this one for him by promptly surrendering four runs after he left with a 1-0 lead. The veteran righty has historically been a must-avoid in fantasy, but he's actually clocked three consecutive solid starts, giving up just two earned runs on 10 hits in a span of 16 innings. Equally impressively, he has a 15:3 K:BB in that span. Still, given his track record, it's hard to bet on the 33-year-old keeping this going.

Pelfrey (2-4) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out seven in Friday's 8-2 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Pelfrey, who was released by the Tigers earlier this season and is being paid $8 million by Detroit to pitch for the White Sox, claims there was no added incentive Friday. He's merely trying to establish his spot in a rotation that currently has three starters on the disabled list. The right-hander has won his last two starts after shaky beginning to his career with Chicago. Pelfrey was 0-4 with a 5.70 ERA over his first five starts but has turned it around with two earned runs allowed and 10 strikeouts over his last 11 innings. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday at home against Boston.

Pelfrey (1-4) allowed one run on four hits and struck out three over six innings in Saturday's 16-1 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Handed a four-run lead in the first inning, all Pelfrey had to do was get through five innings, something he had done just once in his first five starts. That became easier when the White Sox went up, 10-0, after four innings. He pitched to contact, with 70 percent of pitches in the zone, and got out with his first win of the season. His next start will come as part of a double-header Friday at home against Detroit, the team he was with before joining the White Sox.

Pelfrey (0-4) allowed four runs on three hits (two home runs) while walking three and striking out two over 4.2 innings in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
In his five starts this season, Pelfrey has made it into the sixth inning just once and is now sporting an unattractive 5.70 ERA and weak 8:10 K:BB in 23.2 innings. The veteran right-hander has now allowed at least three runs in each of his last four starts and has almost zero upside. The 33-year-old is an extremely shaky streaming option and should only be considered for a roster spot in deep AL-only leagues.

Pelfrey (0-3) gave up three runs on five hits and a walk over 4.2 innings while striking out two in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
He needed 95 pitches (58 strikes) to record just 14 outs, and Pelfrey has allowed at least three runs in all four of his starts since being called up, saddling him with a 5.21 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and woeful 6:7 K:BB in 19 innings. Nonetheless, the team's lack of healthy alternatives will keep the 33-year-old in the rotation for now. He'll get his best shot yet at his first win of the season Sunday when the White Sox host the Padres.

Pelfrey allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out one over 5.1 innings in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
It was all going well for Pelfrey until it was not. He shut out the Royals on two hits through five innings but he tired in the sixth. He had failed to complete five innings in his previous two starts so Wednesday's outing showed progress. With the news this week that James Shields (shoulder) had his throwing program shut down for a bit, it looks like Pelfrey will remain part of the rotation for the immediate future. His next scheduled start is next Tuesday at home against the Twins.

Pelfrey (0-1) gave up three runs on six hits and four walks over 4.2 innings to come away with a no-decision in Friday's 7-3 win over the Tigers. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
It was another short, inefficient outing for the 33-year-old, who needed 90 pitches (50 strikes) to record 14 outs. With James Shields (shoulder) potentially set to return to action next week, Pelfrey's stay in the rotation -- and on the White Sox staff entirely -- could be over.
