Pelfrey was chased from the mound after just 1.2 innings Saturday against the Royals. He gave up four hits and five earned runs, and walked four.
EDGE Analysis
It was Pelfrey's shortest outing of the season and second shortest of his career. He'd tossed two quality outings earlier in July, but he simply could not find the strike zone Saturday. Pelfrey's WHIP and ERA ballooned to 1.76 and 4.95, respectively, with the outing.

Pelfrey (2-8) took the loss Friday versus the Blue Jays despite giving up only one earned run on six hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty got absolutely no run support, sinking what was an admirable performance against a potent Blue Jays lineup. Pelfrey gave up only one earned run for the second straight start, and has now lowered his ERA from 6.23 to 4.58 over the last two months, despite some hiccups along the way. His 2-8 record is therefore somewhat deceiving, and he'll look to continue building on his last pair of outings in his first post-All-Star-break start.

Pelfrey (2-7) allowed just one run on six hits and three walks in 6.1 innings Sunday, striking out three, but came away with a no-decision in a 5-1 win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
He was actually on the hook for the loss until the Tigers scored three runs in the eighth inning and tacked on two more in the ninth. It was just Pelfrey's fourth quality start of the season in 17 trips to the mound, but it did shave his ERA back down to 4.78. His next start will come next weekend in Toronto.

Despite giving up four runs on 12 hits over 5.1 innings, Pelfrey (2-7) got the win Tuesday against the Marlins. He issued one free pass and struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Pelfrey wasn't as bad Tuesday as we've seen him this season, but the veteran certainly wasn't good either. Opponents are hitting a ridiculous .337 against Pelfrey and his 1.74 WHIP is worst among qualifying starters. The right-hander continues to hang onto his job by a thread, and he'll make his next start Sunday in Tampa.

Manager Brad Ausmus said Wednesday that Pelfrey will be available out of the bullpen in the coming days, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pelfrey is penciled in as the starter for Tuesday's game against Miami, but that won't prevent manager Brad Ausmus from using him out of the pen if need be in the coming days. Anibal Sanchez and Pelfrey appear to be vying for the fifth spot in the Tigers' rotation, and Pelfrey's availability out of the bullpen in the coming days is not necessarily a ringing endorsement of his standing as a starter. Still, as it stands, Pelfrey is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Marlins.

Pelfrey's next start has been pushed to Tuesday, June 28 against the Marlins, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers are giving Daniel Norris and Anibal Sanchez starts this week, as they continue to search for a reliable fifth starter, so Pelfrey will be pushed back to next week. He has been below replacement level this year, so it's always possible Norris and Sanchez could bump Pelfrey from the rotation long term.

Pelfrey gave up six runs on 12 hits and a walk with three strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision Monday against Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Pelfrey has now given up a ridiculous 103 hits in just 76.1 innings, and this marks the second time he has allowed at least 10 hits in his past six starts. He allowed two more home runs to bring his total to 12 in 14 starts this season, and that's a bad combination with all the baserunners he allows. Pelfrey's ERA is up to 5.19 -- about what you would expect from somebody with a 38:31 K:BB.

Pelfrey (1-7) gave up four runs on seven hits and a pair of walks Wednesday in a loss against the White Sox. He struck out just one batter.
EDGE Analysis
Even by Pelfrey's ignoble standards, this was a subpar result, as he hadn't struck out so few batters in a start since April 26. On the bright side, Pelfrey's gone four straight starts without allowing a homer and has lasted six full frames thrice in that span. Of course, he's also taken three losses for his trouble and retains one of baseball's ugliest pitching lines, which is something fantasy owners ought to be accustomed to by now.

Pelfrey (1-6) surrendered six hits, four runs (three earned) and five walks over 6.2 innings in Friday's 4-0 loss to the Yankees. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty received no help from his offense whatsoever during what was a respectable outing. Pelfrey managed to notch first-pitch strikes on 20 of 28 hitters, while also inducing 10 swinging strikes. The 32-year-old turned in a second consecutive quality start, and went at least six innings for the third time in the last four trips to the mound, after failing to do so in the four starts prior. He'll try again for his second win of the season against the White Sox next Wednesday.

Pelfrey (1-5) won his first game of 2016, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out three and walking three over six innings in a 7-4 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old allowed a run in the first and a triple to lead off the third that scored on a ground out, but after that, he yielded just one more hit, an infield single, over his last 16 batters. Like much of the season, Pelfrey was wild again Saturday, walking three and hitting another batter, but he worked around it, and Pelfrey has now allowed just two earned runs in the last 11.2 innings. He will look to build upon this success in his next start Friday against the Yankees.
