Napoli is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Napoli was the star of Saturday's 10-4 win over the Mariners, producing two home runs and driving in four RBi in the victory. The 35-year-old only recently got over a bout with back spasms that had kept him on the disabled list until Friday, so it appears manager Jeff Banister is just giving the veteran a rest in the series finale. Joey Gallo will man first base with Napoli on the bench.

Napoli went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
These were Napoli's first home runs since May 24, as he just returned from a DL stint Friday. His .200 batting average should continue to trend slightly up, but he is only a career .249 hitter, so only slight positive regression should be anticipated. The power, of course, is the main selling point, as he already boasts 13 home runs in 190 at-bats.

Napoli (back) went 1-for-4 with a base hit in Friday's 10-4 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
With Napoli reporting no discomfort with his back following a rehab game with Double-A Frisco on Thursday, he returned from the disabled list a day later to take back his usual post at first base. Joey Gallo had been serving as the primary option at the position while Napoli was sidelined, but it's expected that Gallo will now see most of his opportunities in left field to accommodate the slugger's return to action.

Napoli (back) was activated from the disabled list and will return to the lineup Friday against the Mariners, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Napoli will return from the back injury that sidelined him for the past nine games. He'll resume his normal role as Texas' first baseman, although he'll need to improve his .669 OPS if he wants to continue to stave off Joey Gallo for playing time. To make room for Napoli and Carlos Gomez to return from the DL, Ryan Rua and Jurickson Profar were sent back to the minors.

Napoli (back) is hoping to be activated from the 10-day disabled list ahead of Friday's series opener with the Mariners, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Napoli appeared as the designated hitter in a rehab game with Double-A Frisco on Wednesday, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He commented that he felt fine after the contest, but the Rangers might want to see how Napoli fares in the field before activating him. Even if he doesn't rejoin the club Friday, there's seemingly a good chance that Napoli will return before the upcoming week.

Manager Jeff Banister said Napoli (back) could return over the weekend, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Napoli is scheduled to start up a rehab stint with Double-A Frisco on Thursday, and he could be back sometime over the weekend if all goes well. "He's feeling pretty good," Banister said when asked about the first baseman. "As long as he's healthy and he's good with his timing it's not out of the realm of possibility of seeing him this weekend also." While Banister didn't seem overly optimistic about a return this weekend, he didn't rule it out. Either way, it seems like Napoli should be back in action shortly.

Napoli (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Thursday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
With his back pain beginning to subside, Napoli will be playing his first game since June 3, serving as the designated hitter for Frisco. The Rangers will need to see Napoli get some reps in at first base in a game or two before feeling comfortable activating him from the 10-day disabled list, but the fact that he's starting up the rehab assignment offers some hope that he'll be able to return by next week.

Napoli (back) isn't expected to rejoin the Rangers before their road trip concludes Wednesday in Houston, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers haven't provided any word that Napoli has resumed workouts since back spasms forced him to the disabled list last week, so he won't be in line for an activation when first eligible. Joey Gallo is expected to hold down the fort at first base until Napoli is deemed ready to go.

Napoli (back) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Napoli had experienced recurring issues with his back over the past week and failed to show much improvement following the team off day Monday, so the Rangers decided it was best to shut him down for the time being. There's been no indication yet that Napoli will be in store for an extended absence, but he'll need to resume hitting and fielding without pain before a potential activation from the DL next week would be considered. With Napoli temporarily out of the picture, Joey Gallo is expected to see most of the action at first base. Ryan Rua offering another alternative at the position.

Napoli (back) hasn't improved much and could be placed on the disabled list, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Napoli was re-evaluated Monday by team doctors, but it doesn't seem like the findings were very promising. If Napoli were to miss an extended period of time, Joey Gallo and Ryan Rua seem like candidates to pick up innings at first base in his stead. Consider the veteran slugger day-to-day for the time being.
