Though he was putting together a rather disappointing season prior to landing on the DL with a finger injury, Morse swung the bat well during his rehab work and is a proven power bat on a team desperate for run production. He'll continue to see time in the outfield while also splitting at-bats with Justin Bour at first base.

The 33-year-old Morse is batting .211/.268/.289 in 138 plate appearances, whereas Justin Bour is 18-for-48 (.375 average) with three doubles, two homers, five RBI and a 5:8 BB:K.
