Lorenzen (2-3) took the loss Friday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over 6.2 innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Lorenzen tied his season high with six runs allowed and suffered his third loss, but he was still able to complete at least six innings for the sixth time over his past seven starts. During that stretch, he's posted a 2.74 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB over 46.0 innings. Lorenzen has been a hit-or-miss player thus far, allowing 22 runs across four of his starts (21.1 innings) while giving up just three earned runs over his other six appearances (38.2 innings). The veteran will look to get back on track his next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for the finale of a three-game set versus Atlanta.

Lorenzen didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the White Sox, allowing one run on two hits over seven innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander did uncork two wild pitches, one of which brought home the only run against him -- foreshadowing the game's ending, when a Jose Cisnero wild pitch ricocheted off the mask of home plate umpire Cory Blaser and allowed Yoan Moncada to score -- but otherwise Lorenzen delivered arguably his best outing of the season. He's produced quality starts in five of his last six trips to the mound, posting a 1.83 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB in 39.1 innings over that stretch, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is likely to come at home next weekend against the Diamondbacks.

Lorenzen did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing two runs (zero earned) on two hits and one walk over 6.2 scoreless innings against the White Sox. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Lorenzen bounced back from a poor last start, where he gave up three home runs, to toss 6.2 innings with zero earned runs Saturday. The 31-year-old has had a rollercoaster 2023, giving up five or more earned runs three times while giving up one or fewer earned runs in his other five appearances. Through eight starts (46.1 innings), Lorenzen owns a 3.50 ERA and 1.10 WHIP to pair with a 2.92 K/BB. Though Lorenzen is best utilized as a matchup-based streamer and daily fantasy option due to his volatility, he can provide value to managers who are willing to put up with the occasional blow-up start.

Lorenzen allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision during Monday's 8-5 win over the Royals in 10 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit gave Lorenzen a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but that was quickly erased when he surrendered three runs in the bottom of the frame. Those runs came by way of homers by Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez. Lorenzen settled down to hold the Royals scoreless between the second and fourth innings, but he served up another long ball -- a two-run shot by Jackie Bradley -- in the fifth. The three homers were the most the right-hander has surrendered in a game this season, and it was the third time in seven appearances that he has given up five or more runs. On the plus side, Lorenzen has been very good across his other four outings, posting a 0.72 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over 25 frames.

Lorenzen (2-2) earned the win Tuesday, allowing five hits and two walks over six scoreless innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Lorenzen has been excellent of late -- he's gone 2-1 in his last three starts while allowing just two runs over 20 innings in that span. On the season, the 31-year-old Lorenzen is now 2-2 with a 3.44, 1.21 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB through six starts (34 innings). At the very least, Lorenzen is worth a look as a streaming option at this point in the season. He's lined up for another favorable road matchup against the Royals in his next outing.

Lorenzen (1-2) took the loss Tuesday, allowing a run on five hits over seven innings against the Guardians. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Lorenzen was excellent Tuesday, holding the Guardians to just one run over seven innings. However, he'd ultimately take the loss as the Tigers' offense couldn't get him any support against Shane Bieber. The 31-year-old Lorenzen has pitched seven innings in each of his last two starts, allowing just two runs on nine hits in that span. He now has a 4.18 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB through 28 innings this season.

Lorenzen (1-1) allowed one run on four hits across seven innings to earn the win in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets. He walked two and struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Outside of the low strikeout total, Lorenzen was great, and he was able to earn his first win of the year as the Tigers provided eight runs of support. The righty missed the first three weeks of the season with a groin injury and now has a 5.14 ERA across four starts. He's tentatively lined up to take the mound again Monday against Cleveland, where he'll look to build from this positive outing.

Lorenzen's scheduled start against the Mets on Tuesday was postponed due to inclement weather, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lorenzen will instead likely take the ball against the Mets on Wednesday with Tuesday's postponement being made up in a split doubleheader. The Tigers may need to alter their rotation beyond that point, as Detroit doesn't have another off day until May 11 before a three-game series against the Mariners.

Lorenzen (0-1) took the loss Wednesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings during a 6-2 loss to the Brewers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Lorenzen struggled to find his command early, as he hit Christian Yelich, walked Jesse Winker and fell behind 3-0 to Rowdy Tellez in the first inning. After the right-hander worked his way back into the count, Tellez opened the scoring with an RBI double, and Brian Anderson followed with a two-run single. After appearing to settle down, Lorenzen served up a two-run blast to Victor Caratini in the third but was able to get out of the inning and posted two scoreless frames before getting pulled. It's been mixed results for Lorenzen since making his delayed season debut, as he's allowed 11 runs over two starts (nine innings) but tossed five shutout frames in his other outing. He'll look to build some momentum in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Detroit's upcoming three-game set versus the Mets.

Lorenzen did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three hits and one walk over five scoreless innings during a 2-1 loss to the Orioles. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Lorenzen missed the first three weeks of the 2023 regular season due to a groin strain, so he was making just his second start of the year. It was a strong bounce-back performance after he served up six runs over four innings against the Giants in his season debut. He'll look to maintain his momentum during his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Detroit's upcoming three-game road set in Milwaukee.
