Cuddyer is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies. Cuddyer, who is riding a four-game hit streak, will get a rare day off in favor of Kirk Nieuwenhuis in left field. There's currently no word of an injury, so look for Cuddyer to be available in a pinch-hit situation if needed.

Cuddyer went 2-for-4, including a two-run home run, Wednesday against the Marlins. Cuddyer entered the game 2-for-28, so he clearly needed something good to happen. Despite his slump, Cuddyer should still be in the lineup close to daily.

Cuddyer is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins. With a mere two hits in his last seven starts (27 at-bats), Cuddyer is now sitting with a disappointing .236/.304/.361 batting line and 20 strikeouts through 19 games. He will get a mental and physical rest Tuesday with Curtis Granderson moving over to right field and Kirk Nieuwenhuis stepping in to play left, but Cuddyer should continue playing close to everyday after signing a $21 million contract in the offseason.

Cuddyer is getting a day off Sunday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. Cuddyer should be right be in the lineup Tuesday against Atlanta. The team's off-day Monday gives him an extra day of rest. Cuddyer is being replaced in left field by Kirk Nieuwenhuis.

Cuddyer went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run Thursday in a win over the Marlins. He's now hit safely in five straight games, lifting his average from .200 to .297 in the process. Cuddyer's been striking out much more than usual -- Thursday's K made it 14 in 37 at-bats on the season -- but he tends to make much more contact than that.

Cuddyer (hand) is in the lineup Wednesday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. He left Tuesday's game after getting hit by a pitch on his left hand, but as expected he will be back in action Wednesday. The Mets could ill-afford to lose another key bat from their lineup with David Wright headed to the DL.

Cuddyer (hand) said Tuesday night that he doesn't think he'll miss Wednesday's game, the Wall Street Journal's Jared Diamond reports. Cuddyer, whose X-rays came back negative after being hit on the hand by a pitch Tuesday, said he will have to see how he feels when he wakes up Wednesday, but "as of right now" he didn't expect to miss any time. The Mets could really use his bat in the lineup Wednesday as David Wright (hamstring) appears headed for the DL. If Cuddyer cannot play Wednesday he will likely be replaced by Kirk Nieuwenhuis with a righty, Jerome Williams, on the mound for the Phillies.

Cuddyer was diagnosed with a bruised left hand as X-rays were negative, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. Cuddyer was hit by a David Buchanan pitch but fortunately appears to have dodged any serious injury. He could miss a game or two, but shouldn't be sidelined much beyond that. Kirk Nieuwenhuis (against righties) and John Mayberry Jr. (against lefties) will play for as long as Cuddyer sits.

Cuddyer left Tuesday's game against the Phillies after being hit by a pitch on his left hand, Newsday's Marc Carig reports. Phillies starter David Buchanan lost his control in the second, hitting both Cuddyer and Wilmer Flores in a four-run inning. While Flores was able to stay in the game, Cuddyer was promptly removed and replaced in left field by Kirk Nieuwenhuis. Consider Cuddyer day-to-day until the team provides an update.

Cuddyer went 2-for-4, though one hit was a lost-in-the-sun triple, with a run scored in the Mets' 2-0 win over the Phillies on Monday. After a slow start, Cuddyer has three hits his past two games, including his first home run as a Met on Sunday. Look for him to remain as the team's clean-up hitter and almost every day left fielder.
