New York Mets outfielder Michael Cuddyer could be placed on the disabled list if his injured knee doesn't show signs of improvement by Wednesday, according to FOX Sports. Cuddyer left Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals and was held out of the lineup Monday against the Washington Nationals as well after aggravating a bone bruise on his left knee. The issue has been bothering the veteran for over a week and team doctors have yet to find a solution. "It's much of the same, really," Cuddyer said. "It's concerning. We're trying different things to be able to get through it and get relief. To start the game, it's OK. And then as the game progresses, it gets tougher and tougher. When I took [second base in the eighth inning Sunday on] that passed ball, that ball in the dirt, it got pretty bad. There's nothing else the doctors can say. It is what it is."

Cuddyer is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Cuddyer rejoined the lineup Friday after missing two days with a knee injury, but will receive an extra day off heading into the All-Star break. Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in left field in his place, and he'll bat fifth for the Mets.

Cuddyer (knee) will return to the lineup Friday against the Diamondbacks, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Cuddyer's knee has been giving him problems recently, causing him to miss both Tuesday and Wednesday's contests. However, he will rejoin the lineup Friday, batting sixth for the Mets and playing in his normal left field spot.

Cuddyer (knee) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Giants, and he will undergo another exam on his knee Friday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports. Cuddyer's knee has been "acting up" recently according to manager Terry Collins, and Wednesday will mark his second straight absence from the lineup. The veteran outfielder has battled the issue over the past couple weeks, but he's managed to avoid the disabled list. He'll receive another examination on the knee Friday, which should determine whether or not there's something more underlying that could send him to the DL.

Cuddyer's balky left knee has been "acting up," according to manager Terry Collins, ESPN New York reports. While Collins was adamant that Cuddyer is "OK to play" Tuesday, he has opted to hold him out of the lineup because the outfielder is dealing with some renewed soreness after playing in back-to-back games. The main goal is to get Cuddyer strong and healthy coming out of the All-Star break, so there's a chance he could be another maintenance day or two before the end of the week.

Cuddyer is out of the lineup Tuesday. He has just one extra-base hit in his last seven games, and has been a pretty big disappointment for the Mets and for fantasy owners this season. Things are particularly bleak considering John Mayberry, a noted lefty killer, is starting in left field over Cuddyer even with righty Matt Cain on the mound for the Giants.

Cuddyer (sore left knee) went 0-for-5 in his return to the starting lineup Sunday and is 8-for-56 over his past 18 games. Cuddyer missed two games with the injury before returning to action as a pinch-hitter Friday and then seeing two at-bats Saturday. He looks lost at the plate, allowing good pitches to sail past him while swinging at pitches out of the zone. With few available options, the Mets likely will run Cuddyer out there nearly every day, despite his struggles.

Cuddyer (knee) is back in the starting lineup Sunday, batting fifth and starting in left field, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Cuddyer entered Saturday's game and went hitless in two at-bats, so his return to the starting lineup couldn't have been too far off. It's been a revolving door in left field while Cuddyer had been dealing with knee soreness, but the Mets will now look to the 36-year-old veteran to bring stability to the position.

Cuddyer (knee) isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Matt Ehalt of the Bergen Record reports. After missing two contests to stay off his sore left knee, Cuddyer made a pinch appearance Friday, striking out in his sole at-bat. While manager Terry Collins said that Cuddyer felt "a little bit better" Friday, Darrell Ceciliani will fill in in left field and bat fifth Saturday.

Manager Terry Collins indicated Friday that Cuddyer felt "a little bit better," and that he could be available to pinch hit, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. With the news on Cuddyer, it appears he'll likely avoid the disabled list. There's no indication of when he could rejoin the lineup, but he could be available to pinch hit Friday, so that's at least a positive step forward.
