Upton is not in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against Baltimore, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.

Coming off an 0-for-4 outing Tuesday night, Upton will head to the bench. With Upton out of the lineup, Michael Saunders will cover left field and hit cleanup when the Blue Jays face Yovani Gallardo and the Orioles.

Upton is starting in left field and batting seventh in the order Sunday against the Twins.

EDGE Analysis

Upton has been splitting time in left field with Ezequiel Carrera lately, but he possesses more fantasy upside of the two and may have inched ahead of Carrera in the competition for at-bats. It's the second start in a row for Upton, who is sitting on a .311/.347/.600 line over his last 45 at-bats, including three homers, nine RBI, 12 runs and a stolen base.

Upton went 1-for-4 with a game-tying triple and two runs, including the game-winner as a result of a throwing error.

EDGE Analysis

The slugging outfielder came through in the eighth with a one-out triple that brought home Kevin Pillar with the tying run, and in which Upton eventually scored after Max Kepler's throwing error. He's been swinging a hot bat over the last three games, going 6-for-13 with two doubles, Saturday's triple, an RBI and six runs over that span.

Manager John Gibbons said he expects Upton Jr. to "play a lot" down the stretch, despite the upcoming return of Jose Bautista, MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Acquired from the Padres prior to the trade deadline, Upton Jr. has seen an increase in playing time with injuries to Bautista and Kevin Pillar. Overall, Upton Jr. has hit just .200 with 29 strikeouts over his 24 games with the Blue Jays. However, the veteran outfielder has been improving as of late, hitting .290 with three home runs and eight RBI in his last nine contests.

Upton went 1-for-4 with a solo shot in Sunday's game against the Indians.

EDGE Analysis

Upton's third-inning homer off Indians starter Corey Kluber was his 19th of the season and third since moving north of the border on July 26. The 32-year-old outfield started slow with the Jays, but Upton has been picking it up in recent days. All three of his home runs with the team have come over the last four games, a span in which he racked up six RBI and scored four runs. Upton continues to see regular playing time with Kevin Pillar and Jose Bautista on the mend.

Upton Jr. went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and two runs against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

The 31-year-old has struggled during his brief time with Toronto, but he seems to be coming out of his slump. He has two hits in three of his last four games and finished this series, 4-for-10 (.400) with his first homer as a member of the Blue Jays. In his 405 at-bats with both San Diego and Toronto, Upton Jr. is hitting .249 with 17 homers, 50 RBI, 51 runs and 23 steals.

Upton went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Astros.

EDGE Analysis

Upton's move to Toronto has made his game go awry, ruining what was shaping up to be a career year for the 31-year-old. Before being traded on July 26, Upton was hitting .256 with 16 home runs and 45 RBI in 92 games for San Diego. In the 17 games since then, he's 9-for-49 (.184) with no extra-base hits and 21 strikeouts. Upton will continue to see opportunities in the Jays outfield for the time being due to injuries to Kevin Pillar and Jose Bautista, but at this point, he's far from the great fantasy asset he was earlier in 2016.

Upton is set to serve as the Jays' everyday center fielder while Kevin Pillar (thumb) is on the disabled list, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.

EDGE Analysis

With Pillar hitting the DL on Monday, Upton will slide up the depth chart for the time being, and he figures to garner most of the starts in center over the next two weeks. The Jays did recall Darrell Ceciliani, however, so it's possible he could work his way into the mix, as well.

Upton is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.

The Blue Jays will be utilizing Josh Donaldson as their DH on Sunday, thereby forcing Jose Bautista to play the outfielder and leaving no room in the lineup for Upton. After Upton was acquired from the Padres on Tuesday, Blue Jays manager John Gibbons indicated Upton would start against left-handed pitching and enter the lineup sparingly against right-handers when another outfielder requires a day off, so it looks like the veteran stands to lose significant fantasy value with the move to Toronto.

Upton will get the start in right against the Orioles on Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.

Upton got the day off Friday after earning his first start with the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Facing right-hander Yovani Gallardo on Saturday, Upton will slot into the seventh spot in the order while Jose Bautista mans the DH role.
