Harrison (back) threw 78 pitches over five innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. He gave up two earned runs on five hits and posted a 4:1 K:BB ratio in the game. Harrison has advanced to game action after throwing several times at the Rangers' extended spring training complex. With him already extending his pitch count to around 80 pitches, he could rejoin the big club at some point in the next few weeks.

Harrison (back) will make a rehab start Wednesday at Triple-A Round Rock, Anthony Andro of FOXSportsSouthwest.com reports. Harrison is expected to cover around 85 pitches in the start, after previously tossing 77 pitches in an extended spring-training game during the past week. The left-hander hasn't pitched in an MLB game since April 2013 after undergoing back surgeries each of the past two seasons, providing an uphill battle for him in his quest to reestablish himself as a useful rotation member for the Rangers. He'll likely require several rehab starts before the team activates him from the DL.

Harrison (back) threw 77 pitches in an extended spring training game Thursday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports. The plan is for Holland to throw a bullpen session in front of team brass Sunday, after which he may be cleared to start a rehab assignment next week. If everything goes well, he'll be in the big-league starting rotation at some point in June.

Harrison (back) will make another start at extended spring training Thursday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Harrison is expected to cover five innings in the outing and then head to Arlington to throw a bullpen session for the team brass. It's possible that if management is satisfied with his performance during the session, Harrison could begin a rehab assignment at a minor-league affiliate as soon as next week.

Harrison (back) is expected to throw one more extended spring training game Saturday, at which point he could head to Double-A Frisco on a rehab assignment, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Harrison has been sidelined since early last season after undergoing spinal fusion surgery last June. He finally appears to be making some progress towards a return to the mound. If all goes well in his extended spring training start, he could move on to beginning a rehab assignment before an eventually rejoining the Rangers.

Harrison threw a spring training game Wednesday, allowing two runs over two innings. He'll be evaluated again after Monday's session, and at this point he appears to be on course to begin a rehab assignment near the end of the month.

Harrison (back) will pitch in an extended spring training game Wednesday, after throwing 45 pitches of live batting practice Thursday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. The Rangers are being cautious with Harrison, who could start a rehab assignment by the end of May. He's seemingly on track to join the big-league rotation in early-to-mid June, although it isn't clear which starter he'll replace. Ross Detwiler is the leading candidate thus far, but he still has some time to make up ground on Wandy Rodriguez, and it's quite possible one of the Rangers' current rotation members will be injured by the time Harrison's ready.

Harrison (back) has passed his bullpen test and will throw live batting practice Monday in Surprise, AZ, Fox Sports Southwest's Anthony Andro reports. While this is good news for Harrison and the Rangers, it still seems like a long shot that he ever returns to a prominent role in the major leagues, considering how drastic his back procedure was. Continue to monitor his status, as the Rangers owe him more than $35 million over the next three years and would certainly be able to find room for him in the rotation if he can prove capable of handling a starter's workload.
