Den Dekker received good news as X-rays on his left hand were negative, revealing just a bruise after he was hit by a pitch there during Tuesday's game, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports. He should be considered day-to-day for the time being, but shouldn't miss much time as there's no fracture. Kirk Nieuwenhuis would likely get the start in left field if den Dekker needs some time off.

Den Dekker is out of the lineup Monday. Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in left, with den Dekker getting his second day off in a row. He's hitting just .219 on the season with zero home runs and five steals in 39 games, so there's not much fantasy upside here unless you're desperate for stolen bases.

Den Dekker, riding a five-game hitting streak, during which he has gone 9-for-19, is hitting second Friday against the Reds. Den Dekker was moved up in the order while Curtis Granderson was moved down and is hitting sixth. The Mets are giving den Dekker every chance to show he should be penciled into the 25-man roster heading into next spring, and so far, he has responded well to the challenge since his call up August 8.

Den Dekker is starting in left field, batting sixth Friday against the Dodgers, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. Den Dekker is 7-for-30 and just 2-for-his-last-15 since his promotion. He still should continue to see most of the time in left field, mainly against righties, as the Mets look to see if he can be a fourth outfielder next year.

Den Dekker is out of the lineup Tuesday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. He has become the Mets' starting left fielder, but he'll get the day off Tuesday, with Eric Campbell getting a rare start. Den Dekker has just one extra-base hit over his last eight starts, which isn't ideal for a left fielder, so his days as the starter could be numbered.
