Bumgarner (6-11) took the loss against Pittsburgh on Wednesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner notched his second-highest strikeout count of the campaign, but that was about the only thing that went right for him Wednesday. The veteran hurler gave up exactly five runs for his third straight contest, raising his ERA to 4.13 on the season. Bumgarner pitched relatively well over the first three months of the campaign but has posted a 5.05 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 42.2 innings since the start of July.

Bumgarner didn't factor into the decision during Friday's 6-5 win against Colorado, allowing five runs (four earned) on 10 hits and one walk with two strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner was efficient early, permitting only single runs in the second and third, before falling apart in the sixth by allowing three runs on four baserunners and an error before being removed. The veteran lefty has now posted five runs and 11 baserunners in consecutive starts while striking out a total of two batters in a combined 11.2 innings. Bumgarner possesses a 3.96 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 80 strikeouts in 116 innings and lines up to take the mound again midweek against Pittsburgh.

Bumgarner is no longer listed as the scheduled starter for Wednesday against Cleveland, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks now list "TBA" for Wednesday's start, but there is no injury to Bumgarner. Arizona added Triple-A Reno pitcher Tommy Henry to its taxi squad, and Gilbert speculates he could get Wednesday's start. Henry, a left-hander like Bumgarner, has had few clunkers along the way in 2022 but overall has pitched well for Reno, posting a 3.83 ERA over 20 starts in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.

Bumgarner dropped to 6-10 after giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out none over six innings Friday in Arizona's 5-2 loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Pitching at Truist Park for the first time since tossing a seven-inning no-hitter in April 2021, Bumgarner's latest trip to Atlanta's ballpark didn't go nearly as well. Though he was at least able to give the Diamondbacks a decent amount of length, Bumgarner failed to strike out a batter for the second time this season and fell short of the benchmark for a quality start. He maintains a 3.83 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 8.8 K-BB% across 110.1 innings on the campaign.

Bumgarner (6-9) earned the win during Saturday's 7-2 victory over Washington, allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts in eight innings.
EDGE Analysis
Arizona jumped out to an early lead and Bumgarner cruised through a season-high eight innings to earn his third win in four starts. The 32-year-old has held the opposition to no more than three runs in four of his last five starts, compiling a 3.60 ERA during the successful stretch. Bumgarner owns a 3.71 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 78 strikeouts in 104.1 innings and lines up to face Atlanta on the road next weekend.

Bumgarner (5-9) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and four walks with three strikeouts in five innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres did all their damage in the second and third innings, and the Diamondbacks couldn't get Bumgarner off the hook. This was the fifth time in his last eight starts the southpaw has gone exactly five innings as he continues to struggle with pitching deeper into games. The four walks he allowed Friday matched a season high, but he's allowed only one homer in his last five outings. For the season, Bumgarner has a 3.83 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 69:33 K:BB across 96.1 innings in 19 starts.

Bumgarner (5-8) allowed two runs on six hits and struck out five without walking a batter in seven innings to earn the win Saturday over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner didn't have more than one win in any of the first three months of the campaign, but his victory Saturday was his second in as many starts in July. This was just the second time he's completed seven frames this year. A Kris Bryant solo home run in the first inning and a Charlie Blackmon RBI single in the third accounted for the damage. Bumgarner dropped his ERA to 3.65 with a 1.35 WHIP and 66:29 K:BB through 91.1 innings overall. The southpaw is projected to make his last start of the first half next week in San Diego.

Bumgarner (4-8) picked up the win in Monday's 8-3 victory over the Giants, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The former San Francisco ace wasn't at his sharpest, tossing 60 of 100 pitches for strikes, but Bumgarner pitched just well enough to earn the win. The 32-year-old has lasted more than five innings only once in his last six starts, posting a lackluster 4.50 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB through 30 innings over that stretch.

Bumgarner (3-8) took the loss to the Padres on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner dropped a second straight decision against San Diego, though the results were better this time around (one earned run compared to four last week). The lefty has done a good job limiting walks for the most part this season, but the homers (12 allowed in 79.1 innings) combined with a low strikeout rate suggest there is regression coming to his 3.63 ERA. Bumgarner lines up for another home start early next week when his former team, the Giants, come to the desert.

Bumgarner (3-7) took the loss Wednesday, surrendering six runs (four earned) on nine hits over four innings as the Diamondbacks were downed 10-4 by the Padres. He struck out five without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran southpaw didn't get much help from his defense and didn't allow a lot of hard contact -- only one of the nine hits off Bumgarner went for extra bases -- but he still couldn't keep San Diego hitters off the basepaths. Bumgarner has dropped six of his last seven decisions, stumbling to a 5.11 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB through 44 innings over that eight-start stretch.
