Bumgarner threw his first bullpen session of spring training Monday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner said he felt better than he normally does for this time of year. The left-hander will work on locking down his changeup, a pitch that he's fought the last few years. "Earlier in the winter, it was as good as it's ever been, I thought I might have had a good one," Bumgarner said. "And then it disappeared on me like it always does." Bumgarner is expected to once again be the Diamondbacks' No. 1 starter.

Bumgarner got a no-decision in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Giants, allowing four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts in five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Staked to a three-run lead before he even took the mound, Bumgarner permitted his former team to chip away as he surrendered a single run in each of the first, third fourth and fifth innings and departed with the game knotted at 4-4. The 32-year-old lefty concludes his second year in the desert with a 7-10 record across 28 appearances with a 4.67 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 124:39 K:BB.

Bumgarner gave up three runs on five hits and two walks across five innings in a no-decision Thursday against Atlanta. He had five strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner gave up an RBI double to Ozzie Albies and a two-run homer to Austin Riley in the third, but otherwise he tossed two scoreless innings both before and after that frame. Bumgarner, 7-10 on the year, is now winless in his last six starts, going 0-3 with a 6.17 ERA during that stretch. He'll face the Giants on the road next Thursday in his next scheduled start.

Bumgarner did not factor in the decision against Houston on Friday, pitching seven innings and allowing two runs on one hit and one walk while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Through five innings, Bumgarner held Houston without a hit, and the only baserunner against him came by way of a fielding error. The southpaw issued his first free pass with one out in the sixth, and Jose Altuve ended the no-hit bid two batters later with a two-run homer to left field. That was the only hit Bumgarner allowed, but it was enough to ruin his bid for his first win of September. Nonetheless, the start was a positive one for the veteran, who pitched over six innings and yielded fewer than four earned runs for the first time since Aug. 19. His next start is likely to come at home against Atlanta.

Bumgarner said he had difficulty getting a grip on the baseball Friday because they were slick, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner issued a season-high five walks Friday, one shy of his career high. "It's not ever fun to try to blame it on something else," Bumgarner said. "I could have been just as bad without it. But the balls was definitely a huge factor for me tonight. I couldn't get a grip on them. They felt a touch different than they usually are." The left-hander also hit a batter, which loaded the bases in the first inning, immediately before walking in a run, only the fifth time during his career that he's walked in a run. For whatever reason, Bumgarner's control has not been sharp over the last three starts, during which he's issued 12 free passes over 17 innings. Prior to that three-start run, he had given up 1.9 BB/9.

Bumgarner allowed five earned runs on five hits and five walks while striking out five across six innings in the loss to the Mariners on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner surrendered two-run home runs to Mitch Haniger and Jarred Kelenic in the fifth and sixth innings. It was the second start in a row he gave up five runs. In addition, he allowed a season-high five walks. The 31-year-old has a 4.52 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 106 punchouts in 123.1 innings. He will look to get back on track in his next start projected for Friday in Seattle.

Bumgarner (7-9) was tagged with the loss Sunday against Philadelphia after allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks across five innings, fanning three.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner's command and control were all over the place in this one, as evidenced by the fact that he needed 100 pitches just to labor through five innings while also ending with more free passes than punchouts for the first time this year. He dazzled between July and mid-August, posting a 1.93 ERA through a seven-game stretch between July 16 and Aug. 19, but he has given up nine earned runs across 11 innings over his last two starts while posting a 8:7 K:BB in that stretch.

Bumgarner (7-7) earned the win Thursday against the Phillies after tossing eight innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and one walk while fanning five.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner had one of his best performances of the season, as he was just three outs away from pitching a complete game and dominated the Phillies lineup throughout the entire contest. This outing continued a stretch of absolute dominance for the veteran hurler, however, as Bumgarner has gone 3-2 with an excellent 1.93 ERA through 46.2 innings in seven starts following the All-Star break.

Bumgarner completed 6.2 innings versus San Diego on Friday, allowing two runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out six. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran hurler kept the Padres off the scoreboard through six frames, but he lost the lead -- and a chance at a victory -- when Wil Myers tagged him for a two-run home run in the seventh. Despite the disappointing ending, the outing continued a recent turnaround for Bumgarner, who has posted a 2.09 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 26:4 K:BB across his past six starts. The strong stretch has lowered the southpaw's ERA to 4.30 after it sat at 5.73 in early June. Bumgarner's next start is tentatively scheduled to take place at home versus Philadelphia next week.

Bumgarner (6-7) lost Sunday's 2-0 contest against San Diego, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bumgarner held a powerful Padres lineup at bay and never experienced any serious threats but was saddled with the loss due to Arizona's inability to score. The veteran lefty has been resurgent since returning from injury July 16, going 2-2 with a 1.96 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 32 innings across five starts in the span.
