Siegrist picked up his third save despite allowing a run on two hits and a walk Monday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Siegrist continues to pick up save opportunities with Seung-Hwan Oh ailing. He has pitched extremely well over the past three weeks, as he has allowed just one run on three hits and four walks with 11 strikeouts over eight innings in his last eight outings. Look for Siegrist to remain the most trusted arm in the St. Louis bullpen when Oh is unavailable.

Siegrist picked up his second save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Siegrist took the loss in a tie game Sunday against the Brewers thanks to a solo home run. But Tuesday, with Seung-Hwan Oh still unavailable, Siegrist got the nod in a two-run game and held fast for his first save since May 12. Oh is considered day-to-day with a groin injury, and Siegrist seems to be the top choice to closer while Oh recovers.

Siegrist gavie up two hits while striking out two over a scoreless eighth inning Friday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
He hadn't pitched since Aug. 14 due to an undisclosed injury, but his appearance in Friday's game signifies that he is healthy again. Siegrist should continue to see opportunities in the seventh and eighth inning for the Cardinals going forward.

Siegrist was removed from Sunday's game against the Cubs with a possible injury.
EDGE Analysis
Siegrist was removed after two batters in favor of Seung Hwan Oh, who got a five-out save (on 30 pitches) to preserve a 6-4 win. The Cardinals don't play again until Tuesday, and they'll likely provide an update late Sunday or Monday.

Siegrist was activated from the 15-day DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Siegrist has been battling mono for the past two weeks but it appears he is back to full health and is now making his return to the Cardinals. Sam Tuivailala was optioned to Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding roster move. Before landing on the DL, Siegrist had been one of St. Louis' most reliable relievers, compiling a 2.66 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 23.2 innings since the start of May.

Siegrist, who was placed on the disabled list with mono, is expected to be activated by the Cardinals on Friday, Brian Stull of St. Louis Baseball Weekly reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is great news for Cardinals, as Siegrist will join Tyler Lyons as the only other lefty in the St. Louis bullpen. On the season, Siegrist owns a 2.78 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 34 strikeouts in 32.1 innings of relief work. He is expected to return to his normal setup role with the Cardinals ahead of new closer Seung Hwan Oh. Siegrist will continue to be valuable in leagues where holds are a category and still remains a candidate to close games for the Cardinals in the second half.

Siegrist (illness) was placed on the 15-day DL on Friday due to mononucleosis, retroactive to Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw recently pitched Wednesday against the Royals, striking out one during an inning of work, and has been a solid contributor out of the Cardinals' bullpen all season. Unfortunately, Siegrist will now be disabled until after the All-Star Break with his illness. In a corresponding move, the team recalled right-handed reliever Sam Tuivailala from Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Siegrist could see save chances with Trevor Rosenthal removed from the closer role, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rather than name a firm replacement for Rosenthal in the ninth inning, manager Mike Matheny is keeping the door open for Siegrist, Seung Hwan Oh and even Jonathan Broxton to possibly see save opportunities. Siegrist, a lefty, has been excellent this year and keeps right-handed hitters in check, but the right-handed Oh has more dominant stuff and better control.

Siegrist's one walk was his sole blemish in an eighth inning appearance, holding a 4-3 lead against the Cubs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The scoreless eighth was Siegrist's sixth hold of the season. Also of note for Siegrist owners was another shaky performance from closer Trevor Rosenthal, who allowed multiple baserunners again while earning a second consecutive save against the Cubs. While the closer job remains Rosenthal's for now, Siegrist continues to perform well with a 2.79 ERA.

EDGE Analysis
Sunday's outing saw Siegrist bring his ERA and WHIP down to 2.52 and 0.92. Thus far, he's posting a career-low walk rate of 7.2 percent, while putting up a fantastic 30.9 percent strikeout rate. Siegrist has been excelling at home, where he's allowed just one run over the course of 13 innings.
