Morneau went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and a walk in a win over San Diego on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau got his second triple in three games and that's a bit of a surprise as it's his first two of the season. The reigning NL batting champion may be a nice candidate to have a strong last couple weeks of the season and could be a nice pickup in leagues he was dropped. The lingering concussion issues will follow Morneau for the rest of his career, but when he's healthy, he's still a great hitter.

Morneau is out of Monday's lineup against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau will be protected from the left-handed Clayton Kershaw on Monday. In his place, the Rockies will turn to Wilin Rosario at first base, batting fifth.

Morneau is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau has gone just 6-for-23 (all singles) since his return and the Rockies are facing lefty Roenis Elias, so manager Walt Weiss will sit the 34-year-old even with the DH option available in Seattle. Wilin Rosario will man first base and bat fifth.

Morneau is out of the lineup Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran first baseman has started five of the last six games, but he will get a chance to rest in Thursday's day game. Ben Paulsen will get the start at first base and hit sixth Thursday.

Morneau has recorded three hits in 16 at-bats since returning from the disabled list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
True to his word, Rockies manager Walt Weiss seems to have granted the everyday role at first base to Morneau, who has started at the position in four of his first five games back. The Rockies will probably look to rest Morneau against lefties or in day games after night games, with Ben Paulsen and Wilin Rosario set to see action in those scenarios.

Morneau (neck) was activated off the DL and is in the lineup Friday, Dargan Southard of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau has been out since the middle of May, but he'll get a chance to rejoin the club before the end of the season. He may not get the majority of the starts over Ben Paulsen at first base down the stretch, but manager Walt Weiss indicated that he would try to give Morneau somewhat regular at-bats as the season winds down.

Morneau (neck) rejoined the Rockies on Wednesday after completing his rehab assignment at Double-A New Britain, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Out since May 13 with a concussion and a cervical neck sprain, Morneau showed he was healthy during the five-game rehab stint, going 9-for-18 with two homers. While Morneau isn't part of the Rockies' plans heading into 2016, manager Walt Weiss indicated that the club owed it to the 34-year-old to give him steady at-bats, even if it came at the expense of Ben Paulsen and Wilin Rosario. The Rockies haven't formally activated Morneau from the 60-day DL yet, but that could come within the next few days as team doctors continue to conduct precautionary evaluations.

Morneau (neck/concussion) will be evaluated later in the week as he continues to aim for a return before the end of the season, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau is currently on rehab at Double-A New Britain as he continues to work back from a cervical strain that's kept him on the shelf since May. The veteran is certainly not being rushed back by the team, but it looks as though he's determined to play again this season, despite Colorado being well out of contention in the NL.

Morneau (neck/concussion) has gone 4-for-9 with a double and a home run in his first three rehab games at Double-A New Britain.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies will reevaluate Morneau on Tuesday to check in on how he's progressing from a cervical strain that has kept him out for the majority of the season, but if his performance with New Britain is any indication, he's feeling just fine. Morneau should be activated from the 60-day DL at some point in September, though it's questionable that the Rockies would hand the soon-to-be free agent an everyday role while the non-contending team looks to evaluate some of their options under contract for 2016.

Morneau (neck) will start a rehab assignment at Double-A New Britain on Friday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau, who has not played since May after suffering a concussion and neck sprain, is expected to remain on assignment for three days. He'll be re-evaluated Monday, and if all goes well over the weekend, he could finally be ready to make his return to Colorado for the final month of the season.
