Morneau (elbow) is travelling with the team, and he has begun to hit off a tee, the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
So begins Morneau's rehab process with the Sox. He signed with the club a week ago, and the thinking is that he could begin a rehab assignment in July (and return from the DL after the All-Star break).

Morneau (elbow) signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the White Sox on Thursday and was immediately be placed on the 15-day disabled list, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Jose Abreu struggling this season and the White Sox not getting much from the DH spot, the team opted to sign Morneau in hopes of giving the offense a boost. The 35-year-old hit .319 and .310 in 2014 and 2015, respectively, showing he can still handle the bat. However, his history of injuries should not be forgotten. GM Rick Hahn is hopeful that Morneau will begin a rehab assignment soon and be ready to join the big club in mid-to-late July.

Morneau underwent elbow surgery in December and will not be able to swing a bat until June, La Velle Neal III of the Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau reportedly wasn't in talks with many teams about a roster spot, and now it's clear why. The first baseman reportedly said that he thought he only had tendinitis in his elbow, but then discovered things were much worse. This is a tough break for the former-MVP, as it'll now be much tougher to find a landing spot now that teams will have to work with him through a rehab process.

Morneau will become a free agent after his $9 million mutual option was declined by the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Morneau was limited to just 49 games in 2015 due to a concussion and considering his history (he missed chunks of time in 2010 and 2011 with concussions) there's no guarantee the 34-year-old will return for another season. However, if he chooses to play another season he should see a fair amount of interest from other clubs -- Morneau slashed a .310/.363/.458 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 168 at-bats with the Rockies this season.

Morneau is out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Rockies playing back-to-back day games, Morneau will sit out in the season finale, as Wilin Rosario gets the call at first base. An unrestricted free agent this offseason, Morneau may pursue retirement, as his age (34) and extensive injury history don't figure to result in him receiving many attractive offers.

Morneau is not in Thursday's lineup against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies will stack right-handed bats in the lineup as the Diamondbacks send southpaw Patrick Corbin to the mound Thursday, leaving Morneau, Carlos Gonzalez and Corey Dickerson on the bench. Wilin Rosario will replace him at first base Thursday, batting cleanup.

Morneau is out of the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies have been resting Morneau fairly regularly since his return from the 60-day DL earlier this month, so it's no surprise he'll take a seat for a day game after a night game. Wilin Rosario gets the call at first base for the series finale.

Morneau went 4-for-4 with three singles, a double, and an RBI in Saturday's win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Though he's received frequent days off since returning from the disabled list Sept. 4, Morneau has been fantastic for the Rockies in the season's final month. He's gone 20-for-52 (.385) at the plate in September, demonstrating that he still has something left in tank at age 34.

Morneau is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Wilin Rosario will take over at first base with left-hander Robbie Erlin toeing the rubber for San Diego. Morneau has fared well since his return earlier this month (.303/.395/.455), but figures to continue sitting whenever the Rockies face a lefty.
