The 32-year-old former top prospect fared pretty well when healthy this year, posting an overall 4.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 50:13 K:BB in 71.2 innings (11 starts, three relief appearances) for the NL Central-champion Brewers. He should fetch some interest on the open market this winter.

Teheran was sent outright to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, per MLB's transactions log.

How Rea performs Saturday along with how quickly Houser recovers from his injury may dictate whether Teheran gets another look in the Milwaukee rotation.

After striking out four batters while allowing one earned run on three hits and one walk over three innings in his first rehab outing Friday with High-A Wisconsin, Teheran will jump two levels for his second appearance. Assuming Teheran is able to build up from anywhere between four and six innings Wednesday, he should be ready to take on a traditional starting role with the Brewers. While Milwaukee wouldn't appear to have a rotation spot available for Teheran at the moment, that could change if the forearm tightness that knocked Adrian Houser out of Sunday's win over the Padres is serious enough to send him to the injured list.
