Josh Willingham is not in the Twins lineup for Saturday's game against the A's due to a minor foot injury. Willingham conceded that he left foot was "barking a little" after tweaking it while chasing a ball during batting practice on Friday. He is available to pinch-hit, and should return to the starting lineup on Sunday.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Orioles "remain engaged in ongoing talks" for both Josh Willingham and Michael Morse. The O's have claimed both players off revocable waivers, and it seems likely that one (or possibly both) of them will wind up in Baltimore before Sunday. Willingham is making $7 million this season and is due the same in 2014, while Morse is earning $6.75 million this season before hitting free agency over the winter.

The Orioles have been identified as the team that claimed Josh Willingham off waivers from the Twins. The two clubs now have a few days to try to work out a deal for the veteran slugger, or the Twins can simply opt to pull him back. After a stellar 2012 campaign, he's hitting just .215/.347/.391 with 12 homers and 45 RBI in an injury plagued 2013.

Peter Gammons of MLB Network reports that the Twins have placed outfielder Josh Willingham on revocable waivers. Willingham is batting .214/.348/.393 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI over 87 games this season and made his return from right knee surgery earlier this month. The 34-year-old is under contract for $7 million next season. He could be an interesting bat for a contender, but his salary, health, and lack of production could limit interest.

Josh Willingham (knee) could be activated before the second game of Friday's doubleheader in Chicago. Willingham had been slated for activation on Saturday, but his timetable has been moved up a bit. That's assuming, of course, that he gets through his rehab games the next few days with no setbacks. He's been out early July following arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
