Lackey (3-3) tossed seven scoreless innings in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out 10 in an 8-1 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The 38-year-old put together a rare dominant start in Coors Field on a night when there was enough humidity in the air to give his breaking balls some life. It was only Lackeys's second quality start in seven trips to the mound in 2017, but he'll try to build on this performance Tuesday when the Cubs host the Reds.

Lackey (2-3) allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out four batters over six innings during Saturday's win over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Lackey never held the lead while he was on the mound, but the Cubbies scored three runs in the top of the seventh to put Chicago ahead for good and hand the veteran his second win of the season. He's battled in every outing and sports an impressive 9.0 K/9 and 25.0 strikeout percentage but the 5.10 ERA is a real eyesore. It's definitely encouraging that Lackey has gone exactly six innings in all five starts, though. He'll look to make it two wins in a row against the Phillies next week.

Lackey (1-3) allowed seven runs -- five earned -- on six hits and two walks while striking out seven hitters through six innings during Sunday's loss to Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
While Lackey battled and piled up the seven punchouts, the Cinncy hitters did a lot of damage while handing Lackey his third loss of the season. The veteran righty has allowed 16 runs through 24 innings (4.88 ERA) with 26 strikeouts over his first four starts. He'll look to tidy things up in a tough road matchup against Boston next weekend.

Lackey (1-2) took the loss Monday against the Brewers, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk across six innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Lackey fell victim to the longball in this one, allowing a two-run shot to Ryan Braun in the first before solo homers by Jett Bandy and Eric Thames in the second and third, respectively. He pitched well apart from those mistakes and allowed just one baserunner over his last three frames. Lackey turned in quality starts in each of his first two outings and will look to get back on track Sunday against the Brewers.

Lackey (1-1) gave up only one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 10 over six innings Wednesday, but it was one run too many in a 2-0 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty served up a leadoff homer to Andrew Toles on the third pitch of the game, and while he settled down nicely after that the Cubs' offense couldn't solve Brandon McCarthy. Lackey is off to a strong start to 2017, posting a 17:5 K:BB in 12 innings to go along with a 3.00 ERA, and he'll look to get back in the win column Monday at home against the Brewers.

Lackey (1-0) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out seven in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
He fired 66 of 98 pitches for strikes, and after being victimized by some shaky defense on Ben Zobrist in the first inning, Lackey held on long enough to see Kyle Schwarber launch a three-run homer in the top of the seventh to give him the win. The veteran righty will next take the mound Wednesday at home against the Dodgers.

Lackey will start Thursday against the Cardinals, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Lackey will simply move back a day following Wednesday's postponement. Lackey posted a 2.03 ERA and 31:6 K:BB in four starts against the Cardinals last season (26.2 innings).

Lackey will not start Wednesday against the Cardinals has the game has been postponed until Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Cubs have yet to announce an updated rotation order following the rainout, but Lackey figures to just move back to Thursday. Lackey turned in a fine, perhaps underappreciated first season with the Cubs, posting a 3.35 ERA and career-high 8.6 K/9. He's made at least 29 starts in each of the last four seasons.

Lackey went six innings in Friday's spring training loss to the Indians, allowing five hits and a run. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Lackey is lined up to pitch the third game of the season for Chicago, and the veteran once again looks like a solid rotation option. He's not an elite fantasy pitcher, but Lackey is crafty and he should get plenty of wins pitching for a team that won 103 games a season ago.

Lackey said he's leaning toward coming back in 2018 rather than retiring, CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
"At this point, I think I'm more likely to pitch next year than not pitch," Lackey said. "But we'll see at the end of the season." Lackey will be 39 at the start of the 2018 season, but he's shown that he's still an effective pitcher at this stage of his career. Last year, Lackey struck out opposing hitters at the highest rate of his career (24.1 percent, 8.6 K/9), and he posted a strong 3.35 ERA and 1.06 WHIP, the latter of which was a new career best as well.
