Rollins agreed to a minor league contract with the White Sox on Monday, CSN's Dan Hayes reports.

It took all offseason for Rollins to find a team, but he did just that Monday, and will join the White Sox for spring training. Rollins posted a career-low .643 OPS last season, but the shortstop position is not yet settled for the South Siders, so Rollins will have an opportunity to open the season with the job, or at least come away with a roster spot.

Rollins is out of the lineup Thursday against the Giants.

Rollins will sit in favor of Corey Seager, who will work his way into the starting lineup for the fourth straight game. It remains unclear if manager Don Mattingly plans to roll with the veteran or the young gun in the postseason. It's likely he tries to work in some combination of both.

Rollins went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs in Friday's loss to Colorado.

Rollins, like Ponce de Leon before him, is finding out that there is no such thing as a Fountain of Youth. Whether or not he belongs in your lineup is relative to your other options or lack there of.

Justin Turner's knee injury has temporarily solved the team's Rollins-Corey Seager dilemma, as Seager can just shift over to third base for now and allow Rollins to return to short. This marks Rollins' first start since Sept. 6 -- he suffered a couple setbacks as he tried to work his way back from a jammed finger.

Rollins (finger) is temporarily shut down after his finger continued to bother him while trying to throw Wednesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

The pain in Rollins' index finger resurfaced after he made 12 throws Wednesday. According to Gurnick, Rollins was able to swing a biat without pain and could be available as a pinch-runner Wednesday. However, it's doubtful that he'll be able to return to the field for Friday's contest.

The skipper said over the weekend that he planned on playing Rollins over Corey Seager once Rollins was 100 percent, but he changed his tone a bit after Monday's game, telling ESPN Los Angeles, "Right now, I take care of today. I don't have to look forward."
